A few interesting notes for the morning:
National Geographic News reports that the technology of invisibility (think Harry P. and pesky Klingons) has been theoretically proven by a group of physicists from the Imperial College London and Duke University (hey, I'm glad somebody's doing some work there!).
The theoretical breakthrough is made possible by novel substances called metamaterials. Invented six years ago, the man-made materials are embedded with networks of exceptionally tiny metal wires and loops. The structures refract, or bend, different types of electromagnetic radiation—such as radar, microwaves, or visible light—in ways natural substances can't.
Just think of the uses! Late to work? Don your invisibility garment (the article said it would have to be pretty thick, so avoid tardiness in the summer!) and slip into the office. Miraculously appear at the coffee pot. Avoiding in-laws, neighbors, skulky assault squads (Semper Fi!), salesmen, Homeowner's Association reps? Just push a button on your dashboard and you just vanish! Jeff Foxworthy could cover up some of those "cars" in his yard….

Wouldn't you just love your daughter to marry a Muslim who's been taught like this??? Your grandchildren would grow up being taught to hate you and might just kill you in your sleep … or might not even wait 'til then. Call me paranoid … call me hateful … but don't bother calling me racist because this has absolutely nothing to do with race. Religions of all stripes cross racial lines and economic divides. I don't give a damn about a person's race, I've said that before and I'll say it 'til I die. What I care about is how the person comports himself in public, with his neighbors, and lives his life with or without the respect and personal accountability so fundamental to successful society.
