No wonder the Chinese built a WALL

Look here and here. There are literally hundreds of articles like this. These words are as true today as they were a hundred years ago (emphasis mine):

"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himselft to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin.  But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American…There can be no divided allegiance here.  Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all.  We have room for but one flag, the American flag… We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language… and we have room for bun one sole loyalty and that is a loyality to the American people."

 Theodore Roosevelt 1907

Bully! And while SFO has room for all these protesters, in the interest of diversity, of course, Christians are NOT welcome.

Weakness, however it is perceived, brings out the killer instinct. Why is the country that has done so much for the rest of the world, so hated by the nations they helped the most??

Abdul Rahman update

Update – Excellent read at the Anchoress (as always). Continue to keep this believer in your prayers.

I once heard Ergan Caner speak

I once heard Ergan Caner preach. He was dynamic and mesmerizing. Like a
linebacker, he filled the stage with his presence. I couldn’t get enough. (For those that don’t know, Dr.Caner is one of the world’s leading Christian Apologetics.) And he was raised Muslim. His testimony is powerful. It touches a place deep inside.

Afterwards, I picked up his book “Unveiling Islam”. Now I’ve read it 4 times. It continues to speak to me about the tragic isolation of Islam. At times it reads like a college paper (after all, he and his brother/co-author are professors), at other times it literally shouts at me. Stories like that of Abdul Rahman strikes a nerve. If he
converted 16 years ago, why is he on trial NOW? If his conversion predates the Afghani Constitution, (which if you read carefully, allows a religious change in
direction
— actually part of the of the UN's Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Article 18):

"Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion;
this right includes freedom to change his religion or belief, and freedom,
either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance." (Thanks FRC)

then WHAT IS THE ISSUE? Is it because he spoke to a reporter? So NOW he has to
be made an example? I believe Radical Islam will not be satisfied until the entire world is at war with them. It’s like a psychotic compulsion. The cartoons, The Pit, beheadings, flying planes into buildings. Personally, I would not blame W one bit if he just went ahead and created Lake Kabul and Lake Baghdad. I’ll start shopping for my swimsuit.

Numerous references in Dr. Caner’s book point out the Muslim tenet that if you’re not with us, then we’ll kill you. Period. It’s expected, encouraged and richly rewarded. 70 virgins and all that.

I don’t buy it. Jesus is The Way and The Truth and The Light. He didn’t have 9 wives. And He doesn’t kill you just for giggles.
