Where do I sign up?

The Anchoress has a great post on a new label making the rounds of the pseudo press – “Anti-Clinton”…..

It’s one of the things that has fascinated me over the past ten years – the press’ seeming perspective that there are Clintons and Clinton supporters…and then there is the rest of the world, which contains – among other things – anti-Clintites.

And to be fair to all campaign contributors

Have you ever read George Soros described as an “anti-Bush donor?” Nah. He was simply a donor! A concerned guy with money! And if he compared Bush to Hitler and stuff – well, that was just politics, right? He didn’t mean nuthin’ by it!

Really. The usual two-face blather spewed by a clueless, obsequious “journalist.”

In the meantime, where do I sign up?

Fausta was right

During the Thanksgiving holidays, I was dragged into the theater to see the new Bond flick, Casino Royale. Now, don’t get me wrong, I love movies. Especially old movies, but that’s for another day. However, going to the theater and spending upwards of 50 bucks for me and my brood to see a film is ludicrous. Especially when we can wait a month or two and rent it for 1/10th that amount of money and watch it in our jammies. Must be all that Scotch/Irish blood, I guess.

Squeaking purses aside, here are a few caveats:

  • I have seen every Bond film ever made.
  • Sean Connery was definitely the ultimate Bond.
  • Roger Moore was definitely the worst Bond.
  • Casting Judy Dench as M, after the previous M went on the spy network in the sky, was a stellar move.

(((WARNING: Spoilers ahead!!!)))

I liked the reduced dependence on gadgets alot (but was thankful he had a pocket defibrillator when he needed one – quite handy, yes), liked the cars, was surprised at the lack of bad language, some of the bad guys were convincing, the bleeding-eye-guy uber-villian was weak (in MHO), the love interest came across as a vampira sort (so thin, so pale – somebody cram a steak and a baked potato and a piece of pie down that girl for heaven’s sake, before she evaporates before our eyes!), the Texas Hold ‘Em was an interesting twist – but I’m not sure if I buy it’s popularity outside the States, the script at times was icky (“You strip away all my armor. Whatever is left of me, it’s yours.” – Ick Ick Ick – Sean would never had said THAT) but the cinematography was outstanding.

Dishy, yes?

But Daniel Craig? Downright yummy. When he was first announced as the new Bond, I was incurious. I felt bad for Pierce, thrown under the bus sooo soon. To me, Craig looked too blond, like a Russian double agent. But now…..oooooo baby!! His head shots do not do him justice. His eyes are as blue as mine. He’s not tall, but you never notice it because of his abundance of muscles. He is just flat out drop dead gorgeous, a little rough around the edges, with a Jack Bauerish flare.

Fausta was right.

…this is the Bond with the longest gun. Make of that what you may.

The movie is getting rave reviews for the most part and doing well at the box office.

Now only time will tell if This Bond can keep it up.

So to speak… (hee)

No Room in Chicago’s Inn

The City of Chicago threatened to pull it’s support of the city’s extremely popular 4 week long “Christkindlmarket” unless the market’s promoters removed The Nativity Story from it’s list of sponsors. (h/t WizBang). I need one of those dancing icons that rolls it’s buggy little eyes for this one, folks….

The promoters caved.

New Line Cinema, producers of the movie, are befuddled as to why their $12,000 committment to the market was rebuffed

We don’t understand why our sponsorship would be rejected for religious reasons, particularly considering the fact that our film details the story that inspired the holiday season that the Christkindlmarket was created to celebrate.

Well, DUH. Let’s disect this, shall we?

My German is sad at best, but I can cipher this out, I think. “Christkindlmarket” = Christ + child (kindl) + market. Hmmmm….Seems it’s a market to celebrate the German traditions (which are always fun and involve lots of cookies) surrounding the Christmas holiday. Now isn’t the Christmas holiday supposed to celebrate the birth of the Christ? You know, Jesus, the son of Mary & Joseph? The manger scene, the shepherds, the wise guys, the star? Just how moronic can this decision be?

Captain Ed says it best

This decision is so stupid, it’s difficult to get angry about it. Exactly which sensitive attendees of a Christmas celebration will the city be saving? If ever a target market ever existed, it’s the Christkindlmarket. People go there to celebrate Christmas, and while the holiday may not have much religious significance for many of them, they can’t be offended by a reminder of its religious roots — especially since many of the displays will reflect just that.

Their excuse? Mindless multiculturalism, meaning that they reject one culture in order to keep from offending others. The festival will have displays that reflect other religious traditions, which it should, but apparently having The Nativity Story as a sponsor of the event twisted the delicate balance that the city believes it must strike in order to legitimize their involvement. Apparently, they want to keep too much Christmas from invading Christmas.

Rational multiculturalism means accepting everyone’s culture, not keeping scorecards and points about how much of one we get at the expense of the other. Irrational multiculturalism has governments trying to protect the tender feelings of a handful — if that — of overly sensitive critics who will find any excuse to complain about everything, no matter what effort gets made. Anyone who worries that there’s too much Christmas in Christmas has defined himself as a practitioner of the latter.

Fools Rush In

Where wise men never go….(apologies to Johnny Mercer)…

Well, the honeymoon is definitely over. The Democrats are no longer even attempting to hide their greed and avarice. The corruption is paraded about with gleeful cheek. The Emperor has no clothes! Michelle Malkin has an excellent round-up on Alcee Hastings (D-FL), the impeached judge in line for the House Intelligence Committee. Of course, now that a tasty committee chair is almost within his grasp, he cries foul for those that would call him out on his record…

Last week, disgraced and disgraceful Rep. Alcee Hastings (D-Fla.) fired off an unhinged rant to fellow House Democrats denying he was corrupt and attacking “Newt Gingrich, Sean Hannity, Ann Coulter, Michelle Malkin, Michael Barone, Drudge, anonymous bloggers, and other assorted misinformed fools” who have cited his House impeachment and Senate conviction on bribery and perjury charges.

I guess I fall into the “assorted misinformed fools” category. Fine by me. Read it all and follow all the links. Michelle has definitely done the homework on this moron. Too bad the Pelosizoid is too busy doing her time warp to see the damage being done to the country or her precious reputation. Maybe that’s why she looks so surprised all the time.

There’s a definite stench in the air and the bloggers are raising the fire flags. It’s the smell of lies, deceit, blatant delusion. The MSM , along with their friends and relations, boldly lie about what no man has lied about before. Any manner of credibility or integrity is thrown to the winds. Many bloggers, much brighter than me, have extensive posts on the subject. With names.

Could it be this easy? Get your information from a dubious source and use it to declare “civil war?”

Well, why not? The press has done everything else it possibly could to undermine our troops and the president, since 2003. It’s all about honor, you know. Honorable withdrawal and stuff. Further, check out this: AP makes a terrible charge against our troops with unnamed sources. The military denies it, the press says, “yeah, sez you, we’re running it and not naming a single source, because we believe anyone but you guys…”

  • Siggy, who is always asking about your mother (who didn’t lie, by the way), has an excellent post on the party line spewed by the press, the UN and a dubious Bill Clinton determined to channel Al Jolson

In publishing the IRIN fantasy as ‘news,’ Reuters highlights the difference between themselves and Nazi era media outlets. Those German media outlets were forced to report the lies and deceit and of the Third Reich.

Reuters and most of the mainstream media are perfectly happy to report the ‘party line’ and agenda as real news, willingly and without coercion. They cannot be expected to be taken seriously.

Now that the Democrats are in charge, they can easily segue from expressing their dysfunctional emotions about this to actually acting on those dysfunctional emotions.

  • If that post didn’t get you going, then this one from Patterico will have you throwing dishes at the walls!

Read them all and weep. In a way, it reminds me of a scene from The Pianist. The Szpilman family is sitting around in their parlor, while the Nazis tromp around outside, rounding up Jews. They comfort each other with the thought that it could never happen, especially to them.

Second Thessalonians has some interesting advice…

3 Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. 4 He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God. … 7 For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way. 8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming. 9 The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders, 10 and in every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 11 For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie 12 and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.

How sad that the Democrat’s only goal for the next two years is to reverse anything with Bush’s name on it. Maybe when someone they care about is endangered by their policies will they begin to understand what a great disservice they have provided for their constituents. All in the name of spite.

UPDATE: Lorie Byrd has an excellent post on Media Malpractice

Bloggers are just recently catching on and exposing fake stories, but these exposes have not yet reached the people in the form of a story on a primetime network newscast. What the heck will it take to get some serious MSM attention to this problem? Will they wait until their credibility is on par with Rather and Mapes? It would appear that is the course they have chosen. Michelle Malkin sums it up perfectly: “Journalists in the legacy press are too busy trying to write the Bush administration’s obituary to notice that they are writing their own…MSM credibility, R.I.P.”

and The Anchoress, yet again nails the damage done in her update.

As usual with stories like this the fake story – and the impressions it has made on the minds of the public – is out there, damage done. I don’t see how alternate media can win against a major media that fabricates crap and puts it out there knowing that even if they correct the story a week later, they’ve done their damage. It’s a sneakly lawyer’s trick, actually – like putting an idea in a jury’s head and then having the judge tell them to “disregard” it.

I frankly don’t know how the president had endured this non-stop game, the incessant lying and leaking, distortion and hate-mongering in the press. I don’t know how anyone can endure it and not lose heart. Perhaps he has. The press is literally trying to not simply destroy the man but take down his government and surrender a military action that is important to the survival of our identity, and the West’s. And, sadly, they seem to be succeeding.

Happy Thanksgiving

Off to the many relatives today and eating waaaay too much!

It looks cold & rainy up in NYC for the Macy’s parade. Glad I’m down here where it’s high 40’s with beautiful sun!

Barbara Boxer, Professor of Higher Math

Philip O’Connor over at TCSDaily has an interesting piece on war-time mortality rates that begs a full reading. It’s especially enlightening in the context of the latest flip-flop acts in the Democrat’s Circus since the election swung their way. In times past, you usually didn’t change your position until AFTER the oath of office was taken, and then you smugly would say “I misspoke” or “You didn’t understand my meaning”. Blah Blah Blah. But I digress…..

Rep. Boxer continues her cut-and-run chant and uses congressional calculus to back up her stance.

Following the Democratic mid-term triumph, California U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer told National Public Radio that the recent average daily loss of three military people in Iraq necessitated disengagement as soon as possible. Sen. Boxer has posed a fundamental question: What price in American lives are we prepared to pay for our national security policies?

Mr. O’Connor then cites statistics that put the WOT (especially in Irag) in perspective. Technology plays a big part in these numbers as well as the troops themselves. They’re not quite as ignorant as most Congress”people” would lead you to believe. And they are not in it for the money, either.

In the full sweep of U.S history, from the commencement of the Revolution on Lexington Green in April 1775, until the sunny morning of September 11, 2001, our average daily sacrifice has been between 14 and 15 military fatalities (1,217,000 fatalities/83,461 days = 14.6/day). Since 9/11, the average daily sacrifice has been 1.7 per day (3200/1900=1.68).

From the Revolutionary War until the American entry into World War I, the average daily rate was about 11 per day (578,000/52,231=11.07). From World War I through the break up of the Soviet Union, the rate was over 16 per day (636,000/38,811=16.39). Or in our long running confrontation with Soviet communism following World War II until the collapse of the Soviet empire, the rate was over between 6 and 7 per day (112,400/16,892=6.65).

Because of men like my uncles and my dad, and those before them, our liberty is the envy of the world. That’s why so many peoples and nations fight us so – unadulterated jealousy of an uncomprehendingly free way of life. That’s why the generation of these brave men is called The Greatest, in that they understood the price to be paid to defeat tyranny. And they were willing to do just that.

As things stand, the conflict with Islamic radicalism involves the lowest average daily military fatality rate of any long run national security era. It may worsen, it may improve. If Congress had been asked on September 12, 2001, to endorse a national defense posture against Islamic radicalism that traded up to 2 military fatalities per day over the subsequent five years in return for no additional homeland attacks, the deposing of terror friendly regimes in Afghanistan and Iraq, the ending of Libya’s nuclear program, what would they have done? Would Congress accept that bargain today?

Tell me, Ms. Boxer, would you? If you knew the numbers would be SO LOW, would you? So you would have the right to impugn your President ad nauseum, to shop where you want, to worship (if you worship anything other than yourself) where and whom you want, to be able to speak freely without fear, to be able to bear arms, to be able to travel about freely (no papers?), to speak whatever language you want, to marry whom you want, to live where you want, to eat what you want, to wear what you want…shall I go on?

In light of the impending holiday (of which no Christmas music should ever blare over the airways BEFOREHAND)…tell me, Ms. Boxer…no…no…look at me now, are you THANKFUL for being born American?

I certainly am. And I won’t let you take that away from me.

In the meantime, while I rant, The Anchoress links to AJ Strata and muses on what’s to come for Bush Conservatives. Not just conservatives, or Republicans, or both or neither. AJ writes about many issues that define us (read the whole thing and bookmark it-it’s like a conservative manifesto of sorts), but in relation to this post, this one item alone sums it all up.

Bush Conservatives do not see failure in Iraq, they see the long hard, generational fight we were warned was coming. Bush conservatives will not ally with liberals to find an exit and let the terrorists follow our troops home. Bush Conservatives do not blame Bush for Al Qaeda’s tenacity. We salute Bush for his tenacity.

Did you get that Ms. Boxer? …”let the terrorist follow our troops home.” Your new neighbor or maybe next year’s Trick-or-Treater will blow you up without blinking an eye. Blow me up. Blow us all up. And then praise Allah for the victory against the infidel.

Coach Mark Richt of THE University of Georgia Bulldogs football team is a great man and only one of the few humans who are deemed worthy to succeed the esteemed Vince Dooley. From his first year as coach, he has instilled one tantamount principle in his players: FINISH THE DRILL. It’s painted above the team door they use to enter Sanford Stadium. The players reach up and touch it as they exit. It’s the last thing they see before they enter the field and face their opponents. That is the mentality that’s needed to defeat this threat to all that is good and right in this country and on this earth.

I’m glad we had this talk, Ms. Boxer. Maybe you’ve learned something…

Good Grief

There is something inherently wrong with being awakened by CHRISTMAS MUSIC on your clock radio when it’s the Monday BEFORE Thanksgiving!

Dear Lord, can’t I at least choke down some turkey and dressing and gooey pumpkin bars before the Christmas blitzkrieg begins???!?!?

It was bad enough that I caught a glimpse of the Grinch on TBS last week. And quite typical of godless Ted to start cashing in early.

And don’t even get me started on the stores. At Target, the Christmas decorations shared space with the Halloween ones. Won’t be long before Fourth of July stuff and Christmas are one-stop shopping.

Where’s Linus when I need him?????

Friday Fumings

A newly elected Chamblee, GA councilman first personal agenda item is to censor what’s displayed on the City Hall walls.

“I want that thing down,” said Councilman Mark Wedge, a salesman who labels himself independent. “In comparison to these great presidents, I have this guy represent the wall of our city? No, it has to go.”

In the frame, Bush’s words are accompanied by photos of a bald eagle, the American flag and a title, “Commitment.”

The quote: “We will not waver; we will not tire; we will not falter; and we will not fail. Peace and freedom will prevail.”

BDS peeps out, even before the guys is sworn in! Even before the first council meeting! Wow, he’ll make alot of friends…other council members are downplaying the rookie’s comments. Usually that means they are snickering behind his back as well…

O.J. “Slime”pson is parading about with a new book about “IF I’d killed them, this is how I would have done it”… Despicable! I feel so sorry for his children. Michelle says…

You wanna make money and attract eyeballs by putting on a vulgar, sweeps-week O.J. freak show? Go ahead. But don’t dress it up as public interest journalism, or a historically significant probe “to gain insight into the mind of a sociopath,” or a noble search for truth that adds something worthwhile to public discourse. This new spectacle adds nothing. Nothing. We already know the truth. As La Shawn Barber put it bluntly, O.J. Simpson is hellbound. What more is there to “understand?” Haven’t there been enough endless interviews giving the sociopath a platform to bare his rotted soul and mind?

You’ll never see THIS at an American university. Too Anti-PC, you know.

The Government today issued explicit guidelines aimed at tackling violent Islamist extremism on Britain’s university campuses.

The USMC “Toys for Tots” campaign is getting some interesting press these days. Seems they won’t accept talking Jesus dolls to distribute to needy children for the holiday of said doll’s namesake’s birthday. How ironic. They fear offending families of other religions. Church of the Painful Truth nails it….

I realize that the retailers and marketers, in the quest for the almighty dollar, have perverted the origins of Christmas into a gimme-gimme-gimme day, but I seriously doubt that there will be many Jewish or Muslim families that are going to be celebrating the Christian holiday for which Toys for Tots™ is distributing toys.

Indeed. And I didn’t think the Marines were afraid of anything. Much less dolls

NASA appears to be running out of original thoughts. So they are turning to Hollywood to help them juice up the next big space push. Yep, you got it, Bruce Willis will save the world.

However, everyone understands what it means to save the planet. Bruce Willis died to save us all, as did the movie itself. Morgan Freeman had to run a country considerably narrower than the one he was given in Deep Impact. Killer Asteroids from Outer Space (or KAFOS, as I like to call ’em) outweigh moon rocks not just in mass but in publicity. This kind of mission could find much more political support and might expedite the development of a true space plane, a project on the boards since the Space Shuttle first began its missions. The training and tactics could help develop more exploration projects in the future. And the money will roll back into NASA.

Now I’ve always liked ol’ Bruce. I especially liked The Jackal, if for nothing more than the amazing gamut of hairstyles he sported. After all, you can glue anything to a blank canvas.

While the idiocy abounds….I think I’ll cheer myself up with a slice of this… 🙂

Flip, Flop, Slap

It’s kinda like Dance Dance Revolution, ya know.

First, Nancy Pelosi vowwwwwws to clean the House of corruption. (The Flip).

Then, once she feels the power, she turns right around and endorses the man who helped her out alllllll those years she was building her power base. You know, Murtha, the one whose picture is next to corruption in the dictionary. (The Flop).

Lastly, the House Democrats see through the smoke and mirrors and resoundingly elect Hoyer (149-86) as Majority Leader. (The Slap).

To continue game, insert 2 more tokens….

UPDATE: The Anchoress wiggles her clairvoyant little toes and sees this set-back is the first of many in Nancy’s slow-mo fall down the stairs of the House.

There will be, btw, lots more hype and hysteria about Nancy. She’s had a few weeks of beautiful press, the sort usually reserved for a Clinton, and now she’s stumbling

BlueCrabBoulevard notes that Pelosi’s vindictive nature is beginning to emerge from it’s hiding place – that place it had been stuffed during the election cycle. Interesting…..

Logan’s Run Redeux

You know, I could never get my hair to do that feathered-bang look. Just didn’t work for me…

If you’re too young to remember Logan’s Run, go rent it. You’ll get to see Michael York before he aged and played the devil’s minion, albeit badly. He’s a character in a society that kills off it’s citizens before their 30th birthday. While the plot (however thin) is early sci-fi; the costumes are a testament to all that was bad about the 70’s. The hair, the jumpsuits, the chrome decorating themes, ick ick ick.

Interesting enough, since the Democrats received their “mandate” on November 7th, things in Washington are looking more like Laugh-In every day. Project Runway was already showing clothes I could’ve (maybe) have worn in high school; they were so retro. Then George McGovern shows up to give advice (please excuse me, but I didn’t know he was still living! My apologies…). It was like Laugh-In was encroaching on the borders of my nightmares. The clock kept being reset back 20 years. But wait, I thought the MusliMilitants want to bomb us back 800 years? Oh, my bad, the Dems & Islamonuts are bed buddies. Their math just differs a bit. At any rate, it’s a recurring theme that will recur again and again for the next two years.

Then imagine my surprise to read The Anchoress today – she was thinking on the same wavelength and sees the same creepy patterns as well.

Let’s Do the Time Warp Again!

But in this case, Helen Reddy triggered her flashback.

Understand, it has been decades, literally decades, since I heard that song played over the airways. And I think it’s significant that I heard it today.

Now honestly, can you really remember the last time you heard “I am woman, hear me roar”? She goes on to say

So, when I heard Reddy’s yap suddenly coming through my speakers, I smiled and thought…”ahhh…right on schedule! We’re back in 1972! Again! Endlessly!”

It’s Groundhog Day. But with Hot Pants and Go-Go-Boots.

I’mmmm Back….

At least for now, until the youngest calls and pleads “Come Check Me Out”. Little Sickie is now back at school; buried under a mountain of make-up homework. Block scheduling is the PITS.

After several days of enforced reflection and low band-width where even reading blogs is a torturous process, my outlook is not as glum. The leftie blogs are surprised that the conservatives aren’t yelling. None of the conservatives I know are moving to Canada, or the islands, to escape the coming “Oppression”. Like most educated (even moderately) folks with half a brain cell, we’ll observe and comment. And watch the liberals burn their own bridges. The days ahead will certainly be interesting.

The Anchoress, ailing herself, sees this election as a correction, but with higher stakes.

This election, in the end, is just a realignment, a correction. But unlike the small corrections that routinely occur in the stock market, this one is going to be a lengthy one, and a very important one – it’s going to be a correction that either pulls us together and makes us a stronger nation, or utterly sinks as we bog down in political payback and recrimination. The Dems are going to be accountable now, that’s going to change things.

She points to an excellent article by Alicia Colon at the NYSun. Read the whole thing! While the post has a definite New Englandy slant to it, there are some points that apply even down here in The South. She briefly compares W to Clinton and then wryly notes that if Billy Boy had done everything President Bush has accomplished in his two terms he would have been crowned Caesar. Race issues (always a favorite theme, especially in The South, to trot out at election time) have become the latest bait-and-switch tactics used by liberals (not just Democrats – though they seem to be the slimiest and most well-versed in that area) to cast fear in the electorate. Adding to that fear is the label of being “evangelical”. While Mr.-Average-Joe-on-the-Street may not be able to give you Mr. Webster’s definition of the term, he knows by YEARS of indoctrination by the MSM, that it’s a trait he should be afraid of and definitely vote against, especially if he wants his property taxes to stay low and to be able to collect his Social Security in his dotage.

The Liberal religion of “Do as I say, not as I do” is best illustrated by Ms. Colon’s observation

Would a moral country have reelected so many times Senator Kennedy, who left Mary Jo Kopechne to drown in Chappaquiddick while he sought a cover story before reporting the accident? I don’t think so. A former Klansman, Senator Byrd, was just re-elected in West Virginia and is free to use the “n” word on network television because he puts the word “white” in front of it. Look at our culture, which revels in the profane and the licentious, and then you’ll understand why a political party that adopts an overtly religious façade will be targeted so viciously by the hedonists who rule our society.

She is cynical, as am I, about the liberal’s motives, regardless of their party dujour.

Also, most Americans don’t want politicians to tell them how to live their lives. They have their rabbis, priests, and ministers to help guide them. Republicans need to get back to the core principles of their party….. Most blacks today have no idea about the racist origins of the Democratic Party, and that’s our fault for ignoring this community. The GOP is up against the most powerful ally of the Democrats — liberal journalists who engineered this coup to get their left-wingers, Marxists, and socialists back in power. Their influence will wane when the public stops supporting them.

This should be an exciting, not gloomy, time for the Republicans, as the culling of its party has begun. Byebye, Republicans in name only.

Politics have never been for the faint of heart. Mr. Smith would hardly recognise what the process has become. And this past cycle seems to be the ugliest yet. But there is always hope for those that look for it…

Mr. Bush was always able to work with decent Democrats when he was a Texas governor. Hopefully, a rare breed, the conservative Democrat, has been widely elected and we’ll finally see bipartisan legislation.

Now that the Democrats are in charge, the voters will finally get to see the emperor in his new clothes. Hee, hee, hee.

Now there’s an oxymoron – decent Democrats. We’ll have to see how many of those actually show up. Hopefully this guy will be one of them.

Speaking of hope, The Anchoress in the same post states

Good always overcomes evil…we just don’t always understand what that looks like while we’re in the thick of things, or recognise it when it comes our way. But the Holy Spirit has a way of working with things that look like disasters, and making them work for the best. Remember when Rudy Giuliani had to bow out of the senate race from the prostate cancer? Everyone mourned, we know only he could beat Hillary and we thought, “what a freaking disaster…”

But because he bowed out of that race, he was the mayor of NYC when 9/11 happened…and he was exactly the man that needed to be there. Had he been a senator, the truly goofy and uninspiring Mark Greene would have been mayor and he would have terrified us even more.

I heard a rumor about America’s mayor… please, please, please let it come true!

Highlighters, Unite!

This just blows me away….

Use a red pen or stamp to “de-God” all of your paper money. It’s fun. It’s easy.

As Americans evolve to reject religion and the ranks of atheism, agnosticism, and secular humanism continue to grow stronger, we may eventually achieve an enlightened government; one that supports the separation of state and church; one that respects the rights of individuals.

This young lady is just soooo proud of herself. I guess she missed that part of high school history. You know, the part about the founding fathers, their faith, their vision and their sacrifice to make this little spot of earth such a great nation. I guess she was out protesting her “rights” with the rest of the breakfast club. They didn’t learn anything either about the men and women who fought and died just for their to HAVE that right.

As a countermeasure, I’m highlighting the word “God” on ALL my bills. If enough people follow suit, God will shine out and touch, even for a second, everyone who handles it.

If you want “Godless Money”, move to Tehran, honey. They have plenty.

And So It Begins…..

Drudge is blaring – Rumsfield to face charges in Germany.

UPDATE:  Michelle Malkin reports that the Times (who scooped the story) is now pulling an Emily Latella.

Al Qaeda is gloating – threaten to blow up The White House.

The Middle East is (delinked) one massive tailgate party – the Dems won! Down with the Evil Bush Empire!

France rejoices while Paris burns!

Michelle Malkin says “The Impeachment Drumbeat Begins”.

Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends
We’re so glad you could attend
Come inside! Come inside!

America, the Beautiful. Catch it quick, before it’s gone.

Plan B

Dig in.

ATB has an excellent, excellent assessment of what’s next for the RNC. She links, thru Michelle Malkin, to Diane West and her excellent “What Bush should have said…” speech…

With their devotion to Islamic tradition, then, these new democracies have, in effect, peacefully voted themselves into the same doctrinal camp as the many terror groups that violently strike at the non-Muslim world in the name of jihad for the sake of a caliphate — a Muslim world government ruled according to sharia.

So be it. What I mean by that is, it is neither in the national interest nor in the national will for the United States of America to attempt to reshape such a culture to conform to our notions of liberty and justice for all. It is neither in the national interest nor in the national will to attempt to reform a belief system that animates this culture to conform to our notions of freedom of worship. It is, however, in our national interest, and must become a part of our national will, to ensure that Islamic law does not come to our own shores, whether by means of violent jihad terrorism as practiced by the likes of Al Qaeda or Hezbollah, or through peaceful patterns of migration, such as those that have already Islamized large parts of Europe.

The shift I am describing — from a pro-democracy offensive to an anti-sharia defensive — means a national course correction. Rather than continuing to emphasize the democratization of the Muslim Middle East as our key tool in the war on terror, I will henceforth emphasize the prevention of sharia from reaching the West as our key tool in the war on terror.

War on Terror. National Security. Strengthen our Borders. Whatever you call it, keeping Islamic law from springing up in America should now be our highest priority. Like a cancer, once it stops, it’s hard to stop without radical and heroic measures. Look at Europe. Their “let’s all be friends” P.C. policies on immigration and spineless leadership for the last 20-30 years have gotten them into quite a pickle. Look at Paris, London, Copenhagen. Once proud cities with historic significance, so steeped in heritage you felt like you were bathing in it just by walking the streets, they are now hot-beds for terrorist sleeper cells. In Paris, injuring police officers has become a sport. Without our due diligence, the same could happen here.

America was built by those escaping oppression. Sharia legislates it. Dissension is met with punishment or death. Basic freedoms outlined by the American Bill of Rights are practiced only behind closed doors and under a shadow of fear. The good doctor, Siggy, has a great read on being American in a world being taken over by the European mindset. And it has nothing to do with how smelly the cheese is.

Have we forgotten who we are and where we came from? Have we forgotten that our greatness as a nation has been derived from the ideas and ideals of those ‘wretched refuse’- and not from European cultural elitism? Why are so many so willing to go back to the house that shunned them and would not allow them to eat at the same table as they? May will say that Europe is no longer influenced by the cultural elites, but that is poppycock. This incarnation of cultural elites like to paint themselves as voices ‘of the people’- and like their communist and Nazi predecessors, dissent and disagreement will not be tolerated.

MaxedOutMama notes the enemy is emboldened by the election results. But what will really steer the future of this nation is what happens in the next few months. The Iraqi perspective alone is worth the read!

We don’t have much time – things are going to start moving fast and hard. The election decided nothing, but what’s going to happen in the next month will decide a great deal. Our enemies will greet this election with joy, no doubt about it. They will believe they have the initiative because of it.

This is not a slam against anyone who voted Dem, btw. I agree that the GOP deserved to lose, but we will now see whether the Dems deserved to win.

What’s going to have to happen is that the congressional Republicans and Democrats have to make a united stance and present a united front against our enemy, and I’m not sure that either side is up to it. Regardless of how each person voted, we all need to press our representatives and senators to put the national interest first in at least one area, and that’s the position of our deployed military forces.

So with the Democrats now in control of Congress and Rumsfield thrown under the bus, I fear the good progress (yes, PROGRESS) in the WOT will begin to slowly unravel. As they bicker amongst themselves and snipe at the Republicans whose committee chairs they now covet, more terrorists will sneak over the border. And will wait like spiders in a little hole.
