My, What a Busy Day

Deary me, where do I start? A whirlwind of news, most to none of which you’ll hear from media today.

Dawgs are ranked #1 in the USA Today Coaches Pre-season poll.

Larry Munson will be back, calling home games. All is right in the universe.

Zawahiri presumed dead?

But best of all, in a tantrum worthy of a petulant four-year old, Pelsoi shuts down her “Politboro” to squash the building bipartisan momentum on energy. After the hasty adjournment, the Republicans REFUSED to leave. She turned off the lights, the mics, the cameras. Darkening the House in a way that is the perfect metaphor of her plans for America. No lights/no air conditioning/no power. Sorry, Nancy, but there is more than one way to skin a cat. New technology can be a bitch. The Democrats in Congress could care less that as they frolic home on their five-week PAID vacation, many Americans are GIVING UP their vacation because they can’t afford the gas to the beach, because buying the gas just to get to work is killing them. I know, because it is killing US. And school starts Monday. Where’s the money for shoes and school supplies and lunch gonna come from?

More on The Pelosi (as The Anchoress so fondly calls her) as she sends everyone home in a snit, if she can’t control the vote. She wants to control everything. Her mindset borders on being Soviet, using Capitol police to clear “her” house. Maybe she should call some of her KGB friends for some pointers on how to increase your approval rating. She will never be happy until we are all shackled, dirty and starving and America has been converted to one massive gulag.

Is this a historic day? I hope so. I hope over the weekend, as the news spreads, it will be remembered as the day that a small group of beleaguered Congressmen started the revolution that gave Congress back to the people.

Just up at Redstate – Rep. Mike Conaway’s response to Pelosi’s Folly.

Republicans want to put their money, and their vacation time, where their mouths are in dealing with the Energy crisis. Since Speaker Pelosi won’t allow this to happen, the President should use his Constitutional power to make it so.

We all know what happens when cold water hits a hot-lead-covered Alien Queen. Michelle Malkin senses the fear. Nancy, the cracks in your machine are showing. You will fail, and America will prevail.

UPDATE: More on that “building bipartisan momentum on energy”. Not only in the House, but in the Senate, too. Ten Senators worked together and offered an energy plan late today specifically targeting increasing domestic energy production.

Those in the gang of 10 are Sens. Mary Landrieu, D-La; Saxby Chambliss; R-Ga, John Thune, R-S.D.; Ben Nelson, D-Neb.; Lindsey Graham, R-S.C.; Mark Pryor, D-Ark.; Johnny Isakson, R-Ga.; Blanche Lincoln, D-Ark.; and Bob Corker, R-Tenn.

Harry Reid, on his way out of town, issued a mildly supportive statement, and Nancy Pelosi hasn’t yet commented. This compromise could save the Democrats from their own leadership, and it represents a major rebellion against the hard-line demagoguery provided by Reid and Pelosi. This expansion represents a good start to restoring some common sense to American energy policy and marginalizing the radical environmentalists who have taken it hostage for a generation.

I don’t call it a flip flop what I see is a person who finely sees the Forest through the trees and has realized how bad the economy is and how opening up these areas would help create jobs and improve the economy Strengthen the dollar thus lowering oil costs.
Don’t get me wrong I still have NO intention of voting Democratic but I was considering it until I did some research and realized how Stupid most of their ideas truly are.
They cry over and over windfall profit tax for oil company’s yet don’t tell you that the average worker owns more then half the oil company in their IRA’s, 401k’s and Mutual funds. All I see is the Democrats taking my hard earned money then trying to give me an allowance. Hmm I think I can decide how to spend my own money.
