Well, Would You Look at That!

Exhibit A:

Obi’s Sister has the honor of being the Blog of the Day over at Teri O’Brien’s place. Click on over a check out another smart conservative woman!

P.S. Don’t tell the Democrats there’s more than one of us!

Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Palmer

A.K.A Suzanna and Mr. Logan. Congrats! Congrats! Congrats!

Those out of the know wouldn’t know that Suzanna Logan, of Insert Clever S.Logan Here, got hitched over the weekend. No wonder she’s not had time to blog. She’s been planning a wedding, silly.

The blog boyz will be soz sad, to them it is terrible news that Suzanna is off the market. ““…as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible has happened.” Obi-Wan Ben Kenobi

As for me, I can’t wait to see the pictures!

Shameless Self-Promotion

I’m a contributor over at the new blog, Potluck, the brainchild of Jill at Pundit & Pundette. All women, all opinionated, all the time. Get Give it a try. [See I told you I was tired! Admin.]

Jimmie of The Sundries Shack is promoting it, as well as Troglopundit. Both fine men who knows what’s good for them.

Fellow contributor, Carol “The PhotoShop Empress of the Galaxy” of No Sheeples Here says

Potluck will be a source of the best commentary by women who are in tune with the conservative principles to which many in this great nation adhere.

I’m flattered and honored to be invited – it will be loads of fun. I just hope I don’t embarrass myself or get something on my shirt.

Smitty’s Treasure Hunt and a PSA

Wow, three times now. Awww Shucks. To make Saturday even more funner (Hey, I used to have little kids, and I kept some of the words, so sue me), Smitty has left a gem here on this little blog. Have fun with your treasure hunt!

And now it is time for your Public Service Announcement. Obi’s Sister is due a must needed rest, so blogging will be light (or non-existent) the next week, depending on internet availability. I wonder if the cooler will fit in the new TIE fighter….

P.S. Keep an eye on Fausta – if she keeps this up, she’ll have her own TV show soon or (even better!) be invited to be a FugGirl!

Vegas, Baby

Well, I have returned relatively unscathed from my conference in Vegas. Vegas, Baby. I will write about the idiocy of TSA airport security later.

For the last 4 days…I had very little contact with the outside world….other than news blips here and there.

On Wednesday morning, I got to watch the NY media stake out Spitzer’s apartment – like waiting for the Groundhog to make his appearance. When he did finally appear, it was not to say there would be six more weeks of winter, it was only to talk about himself. Fausta nails it:

If he had any honor at all he would NEVER mention them [his family] at all. If he was a man, he would have actually sent them out of the country to spare them all this humiliation.

The remorse I feel will always be with me. Words cannot describe how grateful I am for the love and compassion they have shown me. From those to whom much is given, much is expected. I have been given much: the love of my family, the faith and trust of the people of New York, and the chance to lead this state. I am deeply sorry that I did not live up to what was expected of me. To every New Yorker, and to all those who believed in what I tried to stand for, I sincerely apologize.

It’s all about Eliot, Eliot and more Eliot: eleven “my”, “me” and “I”.

I look at my time as governor with a sense of what might have been, but I also know that as a public servant I, and the remarkable people with whom I worked, have accomplished a great deal. There is much more to be done, and I cannot allow my private failings to disrupt the people’s work.

Translation: “I’m setting up my comeback as we speak”.

[…] As Siggy would say, “what a sanctimonious ass”.

During lunch that day, at a distance I saw a CNBC screen with the banner “Vast Right Wing Conspiracy?” splayed under a Spritzer talking head sound-bite for which I was fortunately out of earshot. Snort. Too funny.

Today I get back to my little blog and see much to my surprise, I’ve been nominated for “The Best of Blogs 2008” award! (I’m assuming it’s 2008, and the 2007 in the comment is a typo. Otherwise, it took a very long time for that comment to post!) Thank you, Hedgenator, whoever you are! Here is the link to the site for last year. Obi’s Sister will be under the “Inspirational” category. Inspirational? Really? Is my nominator being snarky? Anyway, voting begins April 14th, so stay tuned!

Nice Matters

Funny, I’d been out of town all weekend at soccer tournaments where Nice DOESN’T Matter, when I saw this from Fausta:

Nice Matters Award

The Nice Matters Blog Award is for ladies who

…are nice people; good blog friends and those who inspire good feelings and inspiration. Also, for those who are a positive influence on our blogging world. Once you’ve been awarded please pass it on to 7 others who you feel are deserving of this award. have not only great blogs, but also who have more to them, there is caring, friendship and inspiration too.

Awww, shucks. Now I have to nominate 7 more……not in any particular order, but ones that I read daily, share a kindred spirit with and don’t see an award on their pages yet…
