The Clinton Genetic Defect

Despite my best efforts to be fair on SoS Clinton’s continued illness, others are also questioning her “motivation” for dodging Benghazi.

Read what Ann Althouse has to say. That’s ok. I’ll wait.

Shame is something that only people with consciences can feel.

Finally, I leave you with two words. Or rather a name – Vince Foster.

Then again, there’s this. All sorts of crap self-develops when there is a vacuum of truth.

What She Said, Plus Bonus Points of the WHY of Benghazigate

Elizabeth Scalia, The Anchoress, zeroes in on the Lying Adolescent in Chief and his troupe of Eddie Haskells like a laser-targeted drone.

Every single thing she said is TRUE. The President lied to the nation. Anyone working in our government who knew anything about that night lied to the nation. And the press cowered and simpered, like a well-dressed Wormtongue, covering and twisting the narrative to help their Master.

…there should be a pile of resignations on his desk, and perhaps his own resignation should be at the very top.

Bonus Answer: Perhaps the weeks of denials and lies are to cover up the real reason for Benghazigate – Obama has been gun-running in the Middle East to such a scale that Fast & Furious looks like the Drunken Teacups ride at Disney World.

The Dish from Dinesh

All you’ve ever suspected wanted to know about Obama’s worldview in one handy guide. I think this would be excellent reading material for, say, standing in line waiting to vote. When you’re done, hand it back down the line. One vote at a time; America will survive this tool.

It may seem incredible to suggest that the anticolonial ideology of Barack Obama Sr. is espoused by his son, the President of the United States. That is what I am saying. From a very young age and through his formative years, Obama learned to see America as a force for global domination and destruction. He came to view America’s military as an instrument of neocolonial occupation. He adopted his father’s position that capitalism and free markets are code words for economic plunder. Obama grew to perceive the rich as an oppressive class, a kind of neocolonial power within America. In his worldview, profits are a measure of how effectively you have ripped off the rest of society, and America’s power in the world is a measure of how selfishly it consumes the globe’s resources and how ruthlessly it bullies and dominates the rest of the planet.

For Obama, the solutions are simple. He must work to wring the neocolonialism out of America and the West. And here is where our anticolonial understanding of Obama really takes off, because it provides a vital key to explaining not only his major policy actions but also the little details that no other theory can adequately account for.

He applies that mindset to everything, from healthcare to banking to NASA to school lunches.

Read the whole thing. That’s ok, I’ll wait.

Along the same lines is Jill’s assessment of the latest personality to emerge from Obama’s massive psyche. I bet Freud is clawing himself out of his grave to get a crack at this one.

America Invaded. Move Along, Nothing to See Here – UPDATED: Hoax? Final UPDATE: Yes, HOAX.

(via Memeorandum)

Digger at The Cypress Times reports:

The bloodbath continues along our southern border and now word is coming in that Los Zetas, the highly trained killers formerly with the Gulf Cartel, have crossed into the United States and taken over at least two ranches in the Laredo, Texas area. I am receiving word that the owners of the ranches have evacuated without being harmed.

Anonymous sources in law enforcement in the Laredo area tonight have passed on word that US law enforcement agencies are in the area and are weighing their options regarding the ranches. The media has been silent on this incident and some law enforcement in the area says that they are furious that the media is not reporting the whole story of the continued violence along the border. Their frustrations are understandable because keeping the truth suppressed continues to hamper law enforcement from receiving the true support they need along the border.

The ranch assaults come on the heels of attacks in Nuevo Laredo that shut the city down as a gun-battle raged in the streets. Los Zetas blocked off intersections with vehicles and used fragmentation grenades to attack Mexican law enforcement. In the end 12 were killed and 21 injured in the assaults. Citizens in the area were told to stay in their homes and bullets whizzed all around.

[…] The U.S. Consulate went on to say, “The consulate confirmed that fragmentation grenades were used in the attacks and that suspected drug-gang members had blocked several roads, adding that it advised ‘all U.S. citizens in Nuevo Laredo to remain indoors until the security situation improves.’”

US Citizens in Laredo called 911 after hearing gunfire and explosions just across the border. Laredo police spokesman Joe Baeza deflected the concerns of citizens with what I see as utter contempt. He said there was no spillover violence onto the US side and “We were getting reports from people who live on the river’s edge that they could hear gunfire and explosions from the Mexico side,” Baeza said, “We didn’t have any incidents on the American side. It’s hard for people to understand who don’t live here … They’re not Vikings, they’re not going to invade us, it doesn’t work that way.”

Let’s see if all the elements are here: “…deflected the concerns of citizens…” Police minimize citizen’s concern. Check.

“…US law enforcement agencies are in the area and are weighing their options regarding the ranches.” US Border police piddle about, unable to make a decision. Check.

“…some law enforcement in the area says that they are furious that the media is not reporting the whole story of the continued violence along the border.” MSM ignores the news, because: 1. It doesn’t fit the leftist narrative, 2. There is no one available at JournoList to aid and abet the invaders. Check.

Even worse:

The Los Zetas are highly trained killers initially trained by United States Special Operations forces to combat the drug cartels within Mexico.

An act of war? You betcha! Where’s Holder? Where’s Clinton? Where’s Obama? Is anyone there?

DiggersRealm has more, with multiple updates. Background here, including some speculation about the news blackout. Digger is too kind to give the current regime the benefit of the doubt as to WHY this news is being squashed or WHY there has been no immediate and decisive retaliation to this attack on American soil.

UPDATE: Reports are now coming in it may be a false alarm, but how do we really know?

UPDATE II: MM picks it up. Phineas doubts the credibility of the story. But hmmm…

Final UPDATE: Via Phineas, yes, hoax, hoax, hoax.

What Could Go Wrong?

Afghan military personnel go AWOL from Lackland AFB. 17 in total, over the last two years. No Sheeples Here:

Seventeen Afghan military men training to become pilots at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas are listed as AWOL, as reported by Learning English at the Defense Language Institute as well as training, the Afghan officers and enlisted men possessed military identification and security badges which would grant them access to U.S. defense and military bases, prompting the nationwide alert.

Chief of Public Affairs at Lackland AFB, Gary Emery said “I can confirm that 17 have gone missing from the Defense Language Institute. They disappeared over the course of the last two years, and none in the last three months.”

The date of the alert was not noted. One must ask what prompted the alert now if the disappearances have occurred over a two year span, and none in recent months.

The American Ides of March

Figures Nancy Pelosi would pick today of all days to begin her ruination of America.

Jennifer Rubin:

In short, the cost-containment problem (otherwise we’ll bankrupt ourselves, the president once threatened) is made worse, dramatically so, by the bill. And when we add on “a range of job-killing tax hikes and controls on all Americans,” you have a truly destructive, ill-conceived piece of legislation. If members think hard about that, rather than the arm-twisting and bravado from the White House, what the leadership is up to will become apparent. They are not, it seems, in the business of passing anything remotely resembling “reform.” They are rather attempting to avoid humiliation and prevent a tidal wave of rage from their liberal base.

They are so desperate to pass something, anything, that the government takeover of student loans (a hot topic at our house right now) is now included in the monstrous bill.

Ed Morrissey spoke at the Kill the Bill Rally in Minnesota (read the whole thing!):

Not only is this bill too radical for the American people, it’s too radical for even some Democrats in Congress. But that has not convinced Pelosi and Obama to withdraw it, or to start working with opponents to find some common-sense compromises to reform the cost structure of health care in America. Instead, Nancy Pelosi has decided to attack the structure of representative government by attempting to pass the Senate version of ObamaCare without a floor vote in the House. That’s how desperate the nanny-staters are to defy you and saddle America with a government overhaul of our health care system that we don’t want.

It’s gotten so bad that the NYT is not even bothering to hide their slobbering adoration of The One.

And please, don’t say it’s like watching sausage being made. Sausages everywhere are insulted by the comparison.

This whole Pelosi procedure is nothing but a thumb in the eye of the Constitution. The House could merely have an up-or-down vote on the Senate version of the bill, but Pelosi doesn’t have enough votes to do that – she’d lose the votes of several Democrats who have principled objections to various measures in the Senate version — and so instead they’re going through this bizarre kabuki dance.

Stop. Breathe. Think. Pray. As The Anchoress calmly reminds us

Consider that John Paul spent a good part of his papacy repeating these four words over, and over: Do not be afraid.

[…] It is the most basic -and challenging- of all lessons; and we had better learn it, soon, or we will fret ourselves into sick despair and spiritual weakness, at a time when we need to be very, very strong.

Yes, indeed. We need all our strength, physical and spiritual, to fight this godforsaken tyranny.

Celebrating the End of Evil Daylight Savings Time

Today and next couple of weeks really send me for a zinger…my sleeping/eating/internal clock patterns get out o’whack. Evil, pagan, government weasels curse the sun and alter its course during the summer. Bah humbug.

Still recovering from the spanking in JAX. Doug has it in for his SEC blogging pals, but then recovers his sportsmanship gene with a great roundup. Well done, sir.

The Anchoress has a fabulous Rockwell-ish baseball picture, which soothes the tattered souls of football freaks. I have a memories of being in the stands of Sanford Stadium and every time the scoreboard would show the Braves score (in whatever pennant race was going on that year), we’d cheer and do the Tomahawk Chop Cheer. Yeah, verily, there is always next year for the Dawgs and the Braves.

Who said the interblogz weren’t the most powerful thing on the planet? (h/t Anchoress) And she said

My stars, Stacy is back up in NY again (thanks to generous donations) and this time Fred is showing up!

A desperate struggle to control the narrative of the crucial special congressional election in upstate New York’s 23rd District has broken out in the wake of Republican Dede Scozzafava’s concession yesterday.

Desperate, indeed. Almost as desperate as Obama and Hillary are beginning to sound. Neither of them seem to be handling those 3 a.m. phone calls very well.

In light of the bumbling of military and veteran affairs by our executive branch, donate to Project Valour-IT to help disabled soldiers.

And finally, the REAL truth about PelosiCare. Will someone please turn off the PA system? It’s stuck on Thriller. Halloween’s over.

A Righteous Suspension, the Turning Tide and Watching Pigs Fly

The dreadful referee crew that (possibly) influenced the outcome of the UGA/LSU and Arkansas/Florida games have been suspended until November 14. Tony Barnhart, AJC:

I’m talking about a mindset. It’s the same mindset that looked at A.J. Green’s incredible catch and celebration with his teammates and thought SOMETHING had to be called. It’s the mindset looked at LSU’s Charles Scott, looking briefly to the stands after a touchdown run, and thought SOMETHING had to be called.

As someone who watched college football for a long time, there seems to be an attitude that officials are more concerned about NOT calling stuff. It seems to me that when in doubt, you DON’T throw the flag. To me, it’s much worse to call something that is NOT there than fail to call something that MIGHT be there. Maybe that’s just me.

How did the ref know if he wasn’t looking at the stands to see if his mama saw his great play? Read Rennie Curran’s thoughts here.

A few weeks ago, back when the first horrible call was made, Paul Westerdawg had an interesting take on SEC officiating in general.

I’m generally not a conspiracy theorist. But Georgia does live under an oppressive officiating regime. The current SEC Supervisor of Officials is Rogers Redding (Georgia Tech class of 1965). The prior Supervisor of Officials was Bobby Gaston (Georgia Tech class of 1948). The Chief of Officials for Saturday’s game vs. LSU was Marc Curles (Georgia Tech graduate). (Ht – HacksawDawg). And for good measure, the play by play man was Al Ford who wrongly announced that Jasper fumbled.

Let me just ask you this….would Kentucky ever allow the head of SEC basketball officials to be from Louisville? Obviously not. Yet, we’ve had a Tech man running the show for the SEC since 1988. 21 years is enough. Is there not a competent official from Iowa, Texas or hell…American Samoa.

Oppressive regime, indeed.

These oppressors are losing. And they are beginning to feel the heat. After tanking the economy and doubling unemployment in less than a year, the Democrats are behind in key areas…to Republicans. Gasp! Obama said if he was elected, the oceans would recede, no one would have to work, he’d pay everybody’s mortgage and unicorns would cavort on everyone’s lawns.

Our cry-baby PINO is trying to delegitimize and marginalize Fox News, simply because they don’t follow the White House script for Press Lapdogs.

The White House has declared war on Fox News. White House communications director Anita Dunn said that Fox is “opinion journalism masquerading as news.” Patting rival networks on the head for their authenticity (read: docility), senior adviser David Axelrod declared Fox “not really a news station.” And Chief of Staff Emanuel told (warned?) the other networks not to “be led (by) and following Fox.”

Meaning? If Fox runs a story critical of the administration — from exposing White House czar Van Jones as a loony 9/11 “truther” to exhaustively examining the mathematical chicanery and hidden loopholes in proposed health-care legislation — the other news organizations should think twice before following the lead.

When did we make the leap to Pravda? Right after the bogus Peace Prize? Is this a bad episode of Seinfeld? Did I miss something? Leon Wolf sees the upside where a future (yes, there is one) Republican President (yes, there will be one again) summarily kicks MSNBC off Air Force One.

In fact, I wish we could just speed up this entire kabuki dance and develop a set of permanent political blacklists; Republicans refuse to go on MSNBC and CNN, Democrats refuse to go on FoxNews, etc. etc. At long last the media will have shed the last vestiges of being the objective arbiters of truth and reporting and it will be evident to the whole world which side a given “news” organization is a mouthpiece for based on which politicians will grant them interviews. When that day comes, everyone will look at all news reports examining them for agendas and biases with a critical eye that has been deserved for decades. And since the media is still overwhelmingly left-wing, the aggregate result of their collective defrocking will be a bonus for our side.

I’d like to thank President Obama for starting this process, and encourage him to see it through to its conclusion.

Like many Americans, I have a deepening sense of uneasiness caused by Obama’s lack of substance and/or willingness to take a stand on anything. The Economy. Iraq. Afghanistan. JOBS (please!) PLEASE STOP CAMPAIGNING – you have the job now – BE the President.

Peggy Noonan notes that Obama has now been in office longer that Bush was when 9/11 changed him (and us) forever. We all have that visual of an exhausted GW Bush, speaking through a bullhorn to rescue workers in the rubble of the World Trade Center just days after the attacks. What visual do we have of Obama? Mine is him standing on the White House lawn wielding a toy lightsaber. Presidential. Yeah.

But then, an amazing thing occurred yesterday. After Obama tried to completely block Fox News from all pool interviews, the other networks stood up and DISAGREED with him, forcing the White House to back down from its threat. Yes, you read that sentence correctly. Pigs do fly.

The collected Washington bureau chiefs of the major broadcast networks rejected a White House attempt to keep Fox News from participating in pool reports. Rather than cut Fox out of the pool, the broadcast bureau chiefs unanimously told the Obama administration that none of them would accept any interviews from administration officials. That forced the White House into retreat…

We certainly give these broadcast networks plenty of criticism. Let’s take a moment to recognize their integrity. Jake Tapper stood up to Robert Gibbs earlier this week, and we wondered where the rest of the reporters at the White House were. They certainly showed up today.

Meanwhile, how bad is this for the White House? They now have all of the broadcast networks on record defending their competitor as a news organization. That reinforces reporting Fox News will do in the future, to the detriment of White House efforts to marginalize them. Plus, obviously, they look completely foolish in having to back down from their threat. [Emphasis Admin]

If you’re saying FINALLY, hallelujah, the networks grew a backbone, then you’re partly correct. But in reality, they had a flash of the future. If Obama could kick out Fox, what’s to stop him from kicking out CNN or the darling MSNBC for straying off-script? Shoot, the White House already emails and CORRECTS MCNBC during their broadcast if they feel the message wasn’t conveyed “correctly.” The picture is becoming clearer for everyone.

For a moment, however long it lasts, there is a bit of solidarity against the Obama machine. Almost like right after 9/11 when Democrats and Republicans, friend and foe, stood on the Capitol steps and sang God Bless America.

Hold that happy thought and remember the parable of the mustard seed.

Quotes of the Day

Commenter Robert Belvedere on Cold Fury’s “They just can’t quit her” post (h/t GreenRoom:

I’m becoming convinced that Sarah Palin is the conservative’s Frodo—an ordinary person of the type who, when tasked with a thankless and dangerous mission, will inevitably rise to the occasion.

Smitty on Krauthammer, Palin and the Evil Queen who can’t stop looking in her mirror [editted for PG]:

But it doesn’t take a prophet to realize that, if BHO is A[S]U in 2012, HRC will come back with the fury of a cancer that’s been in remission for a few years.

Troglopundit on the symptoms of Climatechangitis:

Maybe he finally read his own bill? – Rep. Waxman hospitalized after feeling ill

IG-Gate Update

The IG-Gate onion is turning into onion soup. No wonder the media is banging away at Palin – it’s a loud distraction to keep the masses focused away from what is REALLY happening.

It brings to mind a favorite exchange from The Hunt for Red October:

Captain Davenport: They’re pinging away with their active sonar like they’re looking for something, but nobody’s listening.
Jack Ryan: What do you mean?
Captain Davenport: Well, they’re moving at almost forty knots. At that speed, they could run right over my daughter’s stereo and not hear it.

Who knew Obama was a movie buff?

The Cherry-Picking Liar

Before I launch into today’s rant about that sorry excuse for a Chief Executive, I want to send a big shout-out to Donald Douglas at the AmericanPower for linking me in his Rule 5 rescue for the babes list. WinkWinkNodNodKnowWhatIMean?

Thursday is usually food fun day here at the Jedi Academy. I could find a recipe for a nice cherry cobbler, or opine about my cherry tomatoes out back, but really the best way to eat cherries is just as good, old, plain fruit. And don’t forget the old legend about George Washington chopping down the cherry tree. Remember, he said, “I cannot tell a lie.”

Too bad the current occupant of the Oval Office doesn’t subscribe to the same level of personal integrity. As the Anchoress notes in her post about Obama slowly revealing himself to the country,

He told us something about himself when he put the murder of an abortionist over the murder of one of his soldiers. The death of the abortionist was immediately condemned with a security deployment ordered. It took days upon days for the death of his soldier, at the hands of a convert-to-Islam intent on mayhem, to be acknowledged with the release of a woefully inadequate and rather cold expression of “sadness” at the murder of a soldier who had volunteered to serve under him. Barack Obama revealed himself in those stories.

And now, he is in Cairo, saying Ich Bin Ein Muslimer!

[…] But if Obama is a Muslim, he should have told us, don’t you think? I mean, I know the nation elected a person they really did not know in 2008 (the press would not ask him a question or tell us anything about him, after all, besides “he’s so great and so cool and so elegant.”)

An election is a contract of sorts, and before he entered into one with us, he should have told us who he is, that’s for certain. But then again, Obama doesn’t think much about contracts, so it might have been pointless, anyway.

She also thinks he might be sprouting a bit of a mustache. Hmmmm, shady dealings, marxist leanings, affected facial hair, what’s next? A lodge up at Berghof? Legions of goose-stepping morons? Oh wait, he’s already got those in his media lapdogs.

Fausta wonders at what was left out of the speech. I’ll tell ya – any type of firm commitment to anything not related to HIM. That’s a given, especially when he’s jockeying for his own lapdog position, complete with bling (not Bing).

Smitty takes a nice turn at one of the missing items. Almost a palindrome, it is.

But back to the cherries. I’m not going to pick apart this particular speech and point out his many inconsistencies and mistruths – people smarter than me are doing a fine job of that. And this speech is just like the rest. Empty words from an emply suit. As another mesmerizing speech maker once said, “The leader of genius must have the ability to make different opponents appear as if they belong to one category.” (*Can you tell me who said it?)

Talk about cherry-picking your talking points. How about cherry-picking your Presidential quotations? This comment at HotAir notes the irony of quoting the father Adams, but not the son Adams, on early American relations with Muslims (you really must read it!). Perhaps he missed this other John Adams quote:

“Power always thinks it has a great soul and vast views beyond the comprehension of the weak; and that it is doing God’s service, when it is violating all His laws.”

The Middle East is laughing at America behind Obama’s back. He thinks he’s part of the new “in” crowd; but he’s really the butt of their jokes. I can’t wait until tomorrow when he’s in Germany. Better pop some popcorn.

Update: No one got the quote. The source is here.

Scored a “Recommended Read” from Pundit & Pundette! ThankYouVeryMuch.

One More Thought on Palin

Before I dash out of town, thought I’d mention this little nugget, since I haven’t seen/heard it yet.

If (When) McCain/Palin win, then Sarah Palin will be President of the Senate. Obama & Hillary will have to go back to their seats… and Palin will be there, IN CHARGE. Like their boss, in a way.

Classic. How long before a horse’s head ends up in somebody’s bed?

It’s over. For now.

No Joy in UGAVille.

Little Green Buddies.

Take One for the Team, Please!

Last night, at my dad’s birthday celebration, we joked and teased the grandchildren about being conservative or liberal. Seems the only lefty-leaning one is College Girl. I guess that’s to be expected, since she is moving into her senior year of indoctrination. She’ll get over it once she’s graduated and working and sees the giant bite taxes takes out of that first check.

My dad basically said – They both should quit, for the good of the country.

Over the last months there has been calls for Clinton to step back for the good of the party. Now there are calls for Obama to withdraw, especially after the missteps of the last few weeks. I say they BOTH should step back and let the Democratic party heal itself from the divisive attacks that have ripped it apart. The bad behavior has reached heights previously unheard of. Besides the usual attacks on Republicans, they have turned on each other like pirana.

Chris Wilson at Slade (h/t Instapundit) has some excellent points:

But Hillary Clinton isn’t going to drop out. There simply isn’t a function in her assembly code for throwing in the towel.

Obama, on the other hand, is fully capable of it. And if he’s really serious about representing a new kind of politics, now is the time for him to prove it in the only meaningful way left. Moreover, were he to play it right, dropping out now nearly guarantees that he’ll be elected president in 2012. Here’s the roadmap:

Obama drops out next week, stating that although he could almost certainly win the nomination by fighting it out until the convention in August, he is simply not willing to drag the party through a battle that will cripple its chances against John McCain. He then pledges to help support Sen. Clinton in her bid—with full knowledge that she will not take him up on the offer.

In one stroke, Obama will regain his messiah creds by making the ultimate sacrifice for the good of the party. His followers will be furious. The mere mention of Clinton’s name will provoke unspeakable acts. They will abandon Clinton in numbers sufficient to hand McCain the election in November.

Interesting. He goes on…

Losing the presidency again after eight years of Bush will ruin the Democratic Party. It will become obvious that Clinton’s decision to stay in the race was the turning point in the election. The base will turn its wrath on party leaders like Howard Dean and Nancy Pelosi, who failed to push Clinton out. Obama, as the de facto head of the party, will broker negotiations to install new leaders loyal to him.

While I would love to shake some reason into the liberal Left as much as the next guy; the collapse of either party would be disasterous for America. If the Democrats are truly the party of the people that they claim to be, they should request/force these two to close down their campaigns and throw their support behind a candidate that is ELECTABLE. Give the people a REAL choice. In the current world environment, where America is under attack both physically and philosophically, we need a president that has the ability to scare the pants off our many enemies, while simultaneously being gracious and diplomatic. I don’t see either of these as fitting the bill.

I don’t envy John McCain’s position now at all. To some it looks like a shew-in, but to me, it looks like a shark tank. He’s got enough problems. One wrong move, one misstep – and he’s just bait, like everybody else. But America is the one that loses.

To sum it up, they both should step down and take one for the team – Team America.

After all, it was my DAD’s idea. He should get the credit.

Today Tomorrow Should be a Gas

Check out this good analysis by Clarence Claus at Race42008 on the top ten issues for American voters. Of course, the top issue was national security.

1. The fact that Republicans are more trusted on national security is good news for McCain since he has made it a key issue.

Tomorrow is a D-Day for both the Democratic candidates. Pass the popcorn, it should be a gas! Bill Bradley at PJM says

If Clinton fails to win big tomorrow in Pennsylvania, look for more big-time Dems to consolidate around Obama. Last Friday was a very telling day, with Southern Democratic icons Sam Nunn and David Boren — the former Georgia senator who ran the Senate Armed Services Committee and the former Oklahoma senator who ran the Senate Intelligence Committee — coming out for Obama. Along with liberal former Labor Secretary Robert Reich, Bill Clinton’s Oxford classmate when they were Rhodes Scholars together 40 years ago. And Hillary Clinton’s Yale Law classmate after that.

Like piranas in a tank.
