Erick Erickson Interviewing Herman Cain

Erick Erickson, newly minted evening talk show host on WSB Radio, editor of RedState, editor emeritus of Peach Pundit and all around great guy is interviewing Herman Cain, potential candidate for the 2012 on WSB RIGHT NOW.

[It was a great interview. Herman sounded downright Presidential.]

Remember Why America is Exceptional

The rebirth of America begins today.

UPDATE: The Anchoress

We must repeat, over and over, that liberty is the means by which we created creatures are meant to live and to grow and be; that liberty lives in truth spoken forthrightly, and not in circuitous spin; that liberty thrives where people can speak without fear of injury or reprisals; that liberty is sustained only when the press is free and unencumbered; that liberty flourishes when people refuse to be intimidated into silence or acquiescence, but becomes a fragile thing, easily diminished, when we refuse to acclaim it for ourselves.

Perhaps it was easier to tap into the quietly honorable intentions of America at its founding, when oppressed people understood what the opposite of freedom was and resolved to reject it as they rejected empire, or subjugation. Succeeding American generations pursued liberty for others – agreeing always to lead, but never to rule, and ready to return to their own quite ordinary lives when their role was played out.

Today’s balloting seems poised to deliver a hard pull-back from the perceived “mandates” of only two years ago, and a stinging rebuke to public servants who began to believe they were meant to rule, rather than represent – who moved too far against our understandings of consent, and of ourselves and our sacred honor.

We Must Change the Future

The message couldn’t be more chilling eleven days out from the mid-term election. This may be our last chance at turning the tide that will destroy America as we know it.

This latest ad from Citizens Against Government Waste throws down the gauntlet. Who do you want your next boss to be?

We Are in The Best of Hands

Has any American President in history ever smeared his failure over an entire nation? (Jimmy Carter doesn’t count.) The chaos continues in the Gulf:

George LeMieux (R-FL) scolded President Barack Obama from the Senate floor yesterday, telling Obama that it wasn’t just oil washing up on the shores of the Gulf; it’s failure. On Day 71 of the crisis, LeMieux noted that then-Senator Obama had a lot to say about George Bush and his response to Hurricane Katrina, including a focus on “half-hearted measures.” LeMieux also noted that Obama seems more interested in traveling around the nation and giving speeches crabbing about Republicans than in doing the job for which he campaigned two years ago. “This is his job,” LeMieux insisted about the Gulf crisis, “not Ken Salazar’s”

Why is access to the Gulf spill and the resolution efforts being blocked?

Clearly, Democrats don’t want the media or our elected officials to see what’s happening in the Gulf, and it’s about time people started demanding an answer from them for it. When PBS can’t get into the response effort, something is being covered up.

Is what clean-up that is happening all for show? Shoot, if the oil spill can’t be politicized and used for the purpose of pushing a radical socialist agenda, then what good is it? Let those pelicans die. They don’t pay tribute taxes anyway.

The border is his job, as well. He promised Gov. Brewer she’d have an answer on his approach to address the Arizona border issues in two weeks. Instead of an answer, she got an ambush. He’s dissed the wrong governor. She just won’t roll over and take it like Ah-nold. Obama’s shotgun approach of immigration and amnesty talking points are wearing thin. According to Obama, citizenship is a frame of mind, not a matter of law. Maybe he should have taken a citizenship class. Any President, even our current Middle-Schooler-in-Chief, shouldn’t flub thisquote (really) – ““Give me your tired, and your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free…” Perhaps he never looked, I mean really saw, the Statue of Liberty. It doesn’t come equipped with a mirror.

The economy, the financial strength of our nation is his job, too. Obamanomics is proving to be disastrous. And that is just in the first year! Forget that the Democratic Congress refuses to set a budget or vote to extend the Bush tax cuts. More politicization; this time of our paychecks! They really hold their constituents in contempt:

Both strategies [no budget plus Obama’s plan for yet another stimulus package] are designed to save the Democrats in the upcoming midterm elections. If Obama can lower the unemployment rate by November, and the Democrats can hide their out of control 2011 budget until after November, they think they have a winning combination.

They are banking on Americans being that stupid.

Take a look at the tax tsunami lurking in 2011. Unbelievable. And unconscionable.

Pictures from the Atlanta Defending the American Dream Summit

Here are my impressions on yesterday’s AFP Defending the American Dream Summit held in Atlanta, GA. Some of the pictures are a little dark – I either need an easier to use camera, or help with this one! Some of the pictures were too dark, so apologies to Martha Zoeller, Virginia Galloway, Tommy Newberry, Brian Donegan, Jonathan Krohn, Sue Everhart, Joe Turner and Joel Aaron for not being pictured here.

Erick Erickson of RedState was one of the first speakers. He reminded the crowd not to let the train wreck in DC to overshadow our our looming train wreck here in Georgia. Just because our legislature is majority GOP doesn’t mean it’s conservative. They are only GOP for convenience. He advised the two ways to control politicians are by MONEY and FEAR.

Tommy Newberry touted his book, The War on Success. Bless his heart, he read all of Obama’s speeches to boil down his philosophy to three principles:
1. Dismantle the Constitution
2. Dismantle the Judeo/Christian values this country was founded upon
3. Redistribution of wealth

Brian Donegan founded a coalition for disabled Americans, Can-Do Conservatives. He shared the story of his parents being told he’d never live more than a few weeks and here he is – 27 years later!

Jonathan Krohn was his usual precocious self. He’s growing into a fine young man.

Sue Everhart, chair of the GA GOP told the crowd she was conservative first, GOP second!

Rep. Tom Price (GA-6) took the stage to a standing ovation. He said the solutions being offered now by Washington bear no resemblance to American principles. Hot topics were the current Health Care Reform legislation, the GOP strategy going forward, and ten solutions for this current predicament. He encouraged everyone to sign up for alerts from the Republican Study Committee, which you can do here. I’ll have more on his talk later. [UPDATE: Notes here.]

He evoked the words of Thomas Jefferson, “The price of freedom is eternal vigilance” and then closed with those immortal words of Samuel Adams, “It does not take a majority to prevail… but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men.”

For the first Breakout, I attended the one on New Media. Nothing much I didn’t already know, except this nugget – 1 of 5 people decided their vote based on a social network site. Amazing, but also frightening.

Back in the big hall, Neal Boortz was his usual snarky and wildly entertaining self. More on his talk later as well. [UPDATE: Notes here.]

Inhaled some lunch, and then hurried back for the surprise guest, our friend John Berry. And yes, he and the hubster have been friends since high school!

Next up was Joe Turner, magician, and his flaming wallet! According to him, the reason his wallet was on fire was from the friction of all the money flying out as taxes.

Following Joe, was Joel Aaron, first Atlanta Tea Party MC who currently works for AFP. He lead some comparisons between communism and America today.

The next breakout was ‘The Constitution and the Real American Legacy,’ lead by Cherokee Tribune columnist and Constitutional historian, Don Conkey. The room erupted in cheers and a standing ovation when he donned his tricorn! He said in his 82 years, he’d never seen such a power grab as last Sunday (a week ago now). And he reminded us he’d lived through Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin and Saddam. His new book is out, “God’s Influence in the Making of America,” at unibooks.com. As soon as it is available, I’ll be ordering my copy. He and his sidekick, retired political science professor Jay Lybbert, were fascinating. More on their talk later. [UPDATE: Notes here.]

Next breakout session was on ‘Winning with the Traditional Media,’ led by Erick Erickson. He gave advice on how to speak to reporters, how to deal with a camera stuck in your face (at which I failed miserably at CPAC this year – crash/burn – I don’t want to talk about it), how Twitter has opened an avenue of access previously unavailable to the common folk wanting to get some news out (they really read the tweets they get). Reporters main goal is to have a story no one else has, first. You help them, they come to trust you, the relationship becomes such that you can get your message out. “Be witty, be pithy, but most of all, be right.”

Reporters don’t understand liberty, only equality. He told other stories about CNN, Politico and gave great advice.

The high point of the session (for me at least) was meeting Erick’s wife. Behind every great man is a woman in charge. 🙂

Herman Cain closed the day with a rousing talk on taking back America. He said we can do it if we
1. Stay connected
2. Stay involved
3. Stay inspired.

Despite the attacks, their shifting narrative and never-ending name calling, we need to remember that Obama, Congress and the traditional media want us to give up. That is the last thing we should do.

What a day!

Never Underestimate the Motivation of Extremely P-O’d Americans

Hey Washington, can you hear us now?

First up, Jeff Kuhner of the WaTimes, with strong words that I stand behind 100%.

The Slaughter Solution is a dagger aimed at the heart of our system of checks and balances. It would enable the Democrats to establish an ominous precedent: The lawmaking process can be rigged to ensure the passage of any legislation without democratic accountability or even a congressional majority. It is the road to a soft tyranny. James Madison must be turning in his grave.

Mr. Obama is imposing a leftist revolution. Since coming to office, he has behaved without any constitutional restraints. The power of the federal government has exploded. He has de facto nationalized key sectors of American life – the big banks, financial institutions, the automakers, large tracts of energy-rich land from Montana to New Mexico. His cap-and-trade proposal, along with a newly empowered Environmental Protection Agency, seeks to impose massive new taxes and regulations upon industry. It is a form of green socialism: Much of the economy would fall under a command-and-control bureaucratic corporatist state. Mr. Obama even wants the government to take over student loans.

[…] Mr. Obama is willing to devour his presidency, his party’s congressional majority and – most disturbing – our democratic institutional safeguards to enact it. He is a reckless ideologue who is willing to sacrifice the country’s stability in pursuit of a socialist utopia.

The Slaughter Solution is a poisoned chalice. By drinking from it, the Democrats would not only commit political suicide. They would guarantee that any bill signed by Mr. Obama is illegitimate, illegal and blatantly unconstitutional. It would be worse than a strategic blunder; it would be a crime – a moral crime against the American people and a direct abrogation of the Constitution and our very democracy.

It would open Mr. Obama, as well as key congressional leaders such as Mrs. Pelosi, to impeachment. The Slaughter Solution would replace the rule of law with arbitrary one-party rule. It violates the entire basis of our constitutional government – meeting the threshold of “high crimes and misdemeanors.” If it’s enacted, Republicans should campaign for the November elections not only on repealing Obamacare, but on removing Mr. Obama and his gang of leftist thugs from office.

Got that? Strong words, indeed. Obama/Pelosi/Reid have over-stepped to the tune of impeachment. The dies have been cast; November is not far away. Being a lame-duck president should be the least of his worries at this point.

Regardless of a Yes/No vote, his presidency will never recover. No RESET button can fix the mess he’s made for himself and his party.

How the Democrats must be privately cursing Obama right now. Things could have been so different. If he had had more political sense and less personal hubris they could have passed a healthcare bill with bipartisan (read RINO) support that would have served as a nifty foundation for an American NHS. Instead, he has squandered his political capital and imperiled his party’s majority. How can they not be blaming him for the gathering tsunami of 2010?

…Obama has already totaled his presidency and his majority, regardless of what happens with healthcare reform. Thanks to him, there is no “good” way for House Democrats to vote. Either choice leads to heartache, and, though he had ample help from Pelosi, Reid, and friends, Obama is the one to blame. Passing healthcare now will not hit the reset button for the Democrats and transport them back to January 20, 2009, when they were riding the giant wave instead of waiting to be swept away by it.

And what’s worse, in addition to ruining his own party, Obama has created a backlash, a populace hypersensitized to and willing to fight against government overreaching. We’re taking part in a national civics lesson — call it No Citizen Left Behind.

I like that – No Citizen Left Behind.

It’s not like the populace is asleep at the wheel. HotAir reports, “In just 14 months, he has made himself more unpopular than his predecessor, at least by the measure of strong disapproval.” See for yourself; here are the Rasmussen numbers. He only has himself to blame.

John Hawkins and Keith Hennessey both have excellent, quick-read rundowns of the bill. It will bury America in a never-ending sea of red ink.

At this point in time, the Red Queen does not have the votes. But who knows what spells she’ll chant or saints she’ll pray to to work her evil deeds.

Demon Pass. Fitting, isn’t it, that the House/Presidential chicanery reeks of Ol’ Smokey…

It’s all about control. Control of people, their behaviors, their health, their very life’s breath. Doesn’t that sound familiar? I’m sure it does to my parents generation, who gave of their blood, toil and treasure to protect America from totalitarianism.

In closing, Smitty offers a palate cleanser.

God Bless America.

UPDATE: Heh.

Congress’ Scorched Earth Policy

I always thought disdainful, arrogant disregard of the populace was more the Clinton’s milieu, but today the US House proved me wrong. They passed the Slaughter House rule, 222-203. My own disgraceful representative was a YEA, of course, hanging with his pal, the third-world president.

RUSH: Well, Snerdley’s in a little fit here, folks. He thinks I’ve really stepped in it by referring to our president as a Third World president. “What do you mean by that? You better explain what you mean by this.” It’s very simple. We have to destroy our country in order to save our leader’s face. Now, where does this happen? It happens in Cuba. It happens in North Korea. It happens in Venezuela. It happens in every Third World country there is. They destroy countries in order to save their face, build monuments to themselves. They’re leaders for life or what have you. This is not a health care bill anymore. This is a save Obama’s face bill. This is save Obama’s bacon bill. Save Obama’s presidency bill. It doesn’t matter what’s in it!

He’ll sign whatever he gets, as long as it says “health care reform” somewhere in it.

The estimable Smitty of The Other McCain throws down the gauntlet, along with excellent visual aids. Pelosi is about to have her Yamamoto moment and no amount of botox will protect her.

Long time readers know I don’t have a tip jar and don’t blog for money. I don’t often suggest giving money to particular causes, because after all it’s your money and your decision on how to manage it (gee, I’d make a terrible Congressperson). But today I urge you, if you love America, to donate a few bucks to Mark Levin’s Landmark Legal Foundation to fight the atrocity that happened this afternoon in the House. Via Erick at RedState,

God bless Mark Levin.

Here’s the money quote:

“Landmark has already prepared a lawsuit that will be filed in federal court the moment the House acts. Such a brazen violation of the core functions of Congress simply cannot be ignored. Article I, Section 7 of the Constitution is clear respecting the manner in which a bill becomes law. Members are required to vote on this bill, not claim they did when they didn’t. The Speaker of the House and her lieutenants are temporary custodians of congressional authority. They are not empowered to do permanent violence to our Constitution.”

You can give to the Landmark Legal Foundation here. The future of America may depend on it.

The American Ides of March

Figures Nancy Pelosi would pick today of all days to begin her ruination of America.

Jennifer Rubin:

In short, the cost-containment problem (otherwise we’ll bankrupt ourselves, the president once threatened) is made worse, dramatically so, by the bill. And when we add on “a range of job-killing tax hikes and controls on all Americans,” you have a truly destructive, ill-conceived piece of legislation. If members think hard about that, rather than the arm-twisting and bravado from the White House, what the leadership is up to will become apparent. They are not, it seems, in the business of passing anything remotely resembling “reform.” They are rather attempting to avoid humiliation and prevent a tidal wave of rage from their liberal base.

They are so desperate to pass something, anything, that the government takeover of student loans (a hot topic at our house right now) is now included in the monstrous bill.

Ed Morrissey spoke at the Kill the Bill Rally in Minnesota (read the whole thing!):

Not only is this bill too radical for the American people, it’s too radical for even some Democrats in Congress. But that has not convinced Pelosi and Obama to withdraw it, or to start working with opponents to find some common-sense compromises to reform the cost structure of health care in America. Instead, Nancy Pelosi has decided to attack the structure of representative government by attempting to pass the Senate version of ObamaCare without a floor vote in the House. That’s how desperate the nanny-staters are to defy you and saddle America with a government overhaul of our health care system that we don’t want.

It’s gotten so bad that the NYT is not even bothering to hide their slobbering adoration of The One.

And please, don’t say it’s like watching sausage being made. Sausages everywhere are insulted by the comparison.

This whole Pelosi procedure is nothing but a thumb in the eye of the Constitution. The House could merely have an up-or-down vote on the Senate version of the bill, but Pelosi doesn’t have enough votes to do that – she’d lose the votes of several Democrats who have principled objections to various measures in the Senate version — and so instead they’re going through this bizarre kabuki dance.

Stop. Breathe. Think. Pray. As The Anchoress calmly reminds us

Consider that John Paul spent a good part of his papacy repeating these four words over, and over: Do not be afraid.

[…] It is the most basic -and challenging- of all lessons; and we had better learn it, soon, or we will fret ourselves into sick despair and spiritual weakness, at a time when we need to be very, very strong.

Yes, indeed. We need all our strength, physical and spiritual, to fight this godforsaken tyranny.

Martha Coakley – Class Act

RSMcCain wins the caption contest: “A campaign aide to Martha Coakley has just shoved reporter John McCormack to the ground. Coakley sees it and . . . keeps walking.

Yes, the woman in the picture is Massachusetts AG, Martha Coakley, current Democratic candidate for the Senate seat vacated by the recently departed Edward Kennedy. “The People’s Seat.” The man doing the shoving is Michael Meehan, Obama apointee, sent by the panicked DNCC to “assist” her campaign with “messaging.” Heh. “Messaging.” Right. That’s quite a message, sport. While Meehan has since apologized, the damage is done. Coakley claimed to being “stalked,” but where is the evidence? Why did she consider a reporter a stalker? A reporter who wanted to ask legitimate questions about the lobbyist contributions to her campaign that very evening?

She is a candidate so tone-deaf, she even disses Fenway. A candidate so clueless she believes there are no more terrorists in Afghanistan.

Perhaps, like all sycophant underlings, she thinks that emulating The Boss will win her brownie points when she hits the Beltway and is assimilated.

Scott Brown Brings Out the Inconvenient Truth About the Democratic Machine – UPDATED

…and he hasn’t even been elected yet!!

From the Boston Herald comes word that Harry Reid/the Senate/the Massachusetts SoS are colluding to hold up the seating of Brown in the Senate, if he wins the election, in order to cram their health care bill down America’s collective throat:

“This is a stunning admission by Paul Kirk and the Beacon Hill political machine,” said Brown in a statement. “Paul Kirk appears to be suggesting that he, Deval Patrick, and (Senate Majority Leader) Harry Reid intend to stall the election certification until the health care bill is rammed through Congress, even if that means defying the will of the people of Massachusetts. As we’ve already seen from the backroom deals and kickbacks cut by the Democrats in Washington, they intend to do anything and everything to pass their controversial health care plan. But threatening to ignore the results of a free election and steal this Senate vote from the people of Massachusetts takes their schemes to a whole new level. Martha Coakley should immediately disavow this threat from one of her campaign’s leading supporters.” A spokeswoman for Coakley’s campaign declined to comment Friday.

Oh my. Oooooh, oh my.

William Jacobson, who is visiting Mr. Brown’s campaign headquarters, says to call their bluff. (h/t Pundit & Pundette)

Voters need to call the Democrats’ bluff. The deliberate delay of Brown’s certification in order to push through the health care bill will cause a political explosion unlike anything we have seen before.

There are certain red lines which no one has crossed before. And refusing to seat a duly elected Senator, for the sole purpose of excluding that Senator from voting on a particular piece of legislation, crosses that line.

Democrats are threatening to break the democratic links which bind us as a nation. The electoral outrage at such a tactic will be generational, and the Democratic leadership in Washington knows it.

If on the day of the health care vote, the duly elected Scott Brown shows up at the Senate to claim his seat for the vote, will Harry Reid instruct the Capitol Police to bar Brown from the chamber and from casting his vote? Will that be the legacy of health care “reform”?

The voters of Massachusetts need to call the Democrats bluff on this.

The Democrats have shown complete contempt for the Massachusetts voters, now it is time for the Massachusetts voters to show contempt for the Democrats who have hatched this scheme. [Emphasis mine]

The Democrats must be scared out of their ever-lovin’ minds to even contemplate such a stunt. This is over-the-top behavior, even for them. Are they so enboldened by Obama’s repeated power-grabs that they think it’s time to emulate the boss? Do they think of their constituents as nothing more than mindless lemmings? Evidently.

HillBuzz calls the Democrats despicable, more than once.

Never have Democrats been this shameless, never have they held the voters in such contempt.

Indeed. I’m close to being speechless.

Neo-neocon believes a constitutional crisis is brewing. And she’s usually right.

It has been clear for quite some time that we have a government that has lost sight of the idea of “of the people, by the people, and for the people.” Power is all there is now: yes, they can.

But I wonder why the Democrats have seen fit to let out this information now. Even if they are planning such an action, why announce it at this point? Scott Brown hasn’t won, and chances are he won’t. So why let the people of Massachusetts (and the United States) know in what contempt the Democrats hold them? Why make it so clear that the will of the people does not matter, if that will happens to run counter to the plans of those in power?

Because, make no mistake about it: if Scott Brown were to be elected to the Senate from the state of Massachusetts, the bluest of the blue, it would be for the sole purpose of his vote against the health care reform bill. If the head honchos in Massachusetts were to refuse to seat him until that vote was taken, it would be for the sole purpose of thwarting the will of the people of their own state, and of the nation.

Ironic, isn’t it, that we reach this crisis point in the very same state that witnessed the Boston Tea Party?

(Picture courtesy of the Boston Tea Party Historical Society)

Those brave men were fighting against the tyranny of a repressive and unresponsive government. Perhaps our betters in Washington should brush up on their history a bit. Any eighth grade history textbook would do. Throw in a little philosophy for good measure.

False words are not only evil in themselves, but they infect the soul with evil. – Plato, Dialogues

And that “constitutional scholar” fella should pay special attention. There will be a test.

Pass or Fail.

UPDATE: Brown had a great fund-raising day today and is now shooting for the $1M mark. You can donate here.

But look at who’s throwing a fund-raiser to help out Martha Coakley – lobbyists!

The list of hosts is positively a who’s who in health care lobbyists. Here are just a few of the drug companies and insurance companies that will be represented by the hosts of Coakley’s little fundraiser: Pfizer, Merck, Amgen, Sanofi-Aventis, Eli Lilly, Novartis, Astra-Zeneca, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Cigna, Humana, HealthSouth, and United Health. I wonder if Martha Coakley would be making arguments on behalf of the people or the drug companies and insurers if she is elected?

UPDATE II: Dude!

Excuse me, Mr. Congressman, is that an Altar in your pocket, or are you just glad to see me?

Remember that part of Ghostbusters where the pagan temple was on top of the Manhattan skyscraper? Well, evidently there’s several more at The Capitol, and WE are the burnt offerings upon the altars!

Dan Perrin at RedState outlines the dozen sacrifices required by the Democrat’s pagan gods. (Many thanks to Erick’s Morning Briefing)

They are killing off the chances of passing all of their other agenda items, and by sacrificing so many of their principles to the pagan health reform God, they have left their own supporters disgusted and listless.

But to their opponents — the sacrifices made to the Pagan God have resolved them to do everything they in their power to stop these radical, dangerous people who have their hands on the public treasury and who are putting us deeper into debt — and who will not listen. It is a politically toxic combination.

Indeed, there is magic in that mystical number twelve, since Moe Lane has discovered an equal number of Democratic Congressmen pimping themselves out for “access” through a lobbying firm.

So remember this, the next time anybody on that list – or, honestly, any Democrat – talks about the evil of lobbying: the sound you hear isn’t scorn towards those who would try to pay for influence. Nope. It’s scorn towards the rubes who don’t know how to tell when a Democrat is gaming the system.

The climate of fear and uncertainty they are cultivating is calculated to cow the public. No wonder the “economic recovery” so touted by the ObamaMouthPieceMedia is DOA.

Democrats have inserted themselves into every aspect of the economy proposing and instituting changes that stifle recovery or threaten to as we see with cap and trade legislation and health care.

One way to fight back is to support Scott Brown who is running for the US Senate seat (now vacant) for Massachusetts. Curt Shilling endorses him and has plenty to say about stopping the madness.

In fact this madness is like a cancer, even spreading through the halls of America. The latest physician has taken a “wait and see” stance on the festering tumor.

This is how it begins — and ends. That is, the decadent myth of liberalism is ultimately rooted in a crude relativism that reduces truth to opinion, and therefore exalts cosmic stupidity above all. The bang of Marx ends in the whimp of Obama…

Once this is accomplished, there is no longer any ground for permanent truth, nor any way to arbitrate between competing truth claims. Therefore, raw power rushes in to fill the vacuum. It’s as simple as that. The irony is that so many “sophisticated” liberals supported Obama for his “brains,” when they were actually ratifying his muscle. The Chicago Way is not about thinking. It is about shoving and bullying — the Ferragamo boot on the neck. It is the politics of the mid-brain, not the frontal lobes.

[…] Russell Kirk notes that decadence “amounts to the loss of an end, an object.” Obama openly and explicitly severs America from its spiritual end, its telos, its reason for being. We will either continue to decay and deteriorate with bat-faced liberals leading the way down into darkness, or be reborn in the light of our original mandate and purpose, forged and fought for by men both wiser and braver than the hollow poseur who occupies the White House, and sanctioned by heaven.

Douglas quotes milblogger Stormbringer,

The United States of America is the greatest nation in the entire history of the World. We are a Beacon of Hope and Freedom to untold millions, billions. We have the support of our honorable Allies, throughout the family of civilized, free nations. To date, we are the single nation capable of planting its flag on another Heavenly body.

Are we to believe that we cannot prevail against a movement of illiterates, led by a nihilist, inspired by a creed straight out of the Dark Ages?

Whether the threat is from terrorists who would take our lives or corrupt politicians who would take our livelihoods, we will not surrender! In the meantime, we can still hope…
