There. He Finally Admitted It.

via Ace

Obama finally admitted he is a socialist. Everything else he says is a lie. The NY Post:

Buried in the 17th paragraph of one of those mewling New York Times pieces on the woes of Obama — can we start calling him Woe-bama yet? — appeared these two words: “going Bulworth.”

Obama himself, the Times explained, has been “longingly” telling his inner circle that what he’d really like to do is what Sen. Jay Bulworth, played by Warren Beatty in his 1998 movie “Bulworth,” did: to go public as an unabashed, angry and admitted socialist.

It’s as if Ronald Reagan had been caught saying he wanted to “Go Strangelove.”

In confessing his dreams of “going Bulworth,” Obama confirmed that what he thinks and what he says out loud are two different things. He let slip the mask of a center-left moderate — a “pragmatist” who only cares about “what works.” The press and even right-of-center columnists like Ross Douthat and David Brooks have always insisted that this completely unconvincing masquerade is genuine.

For those who aren’t movie buffs, Bulworth portrayed a veteran Senator losing his latest campaign, who makes some drunken admissions… you get the picture. But back to the present.

Of course, you can’t expect the NYT to admit to anything but flat-out fluffing when it comes to The Won.

Don’t believe me? Read the thing for yourself and see if you don’t want a shower after all the wah-wah-wah, OurBoyIsBeingPickedOn hand-wringing.

Ace rightly called it “pillow-talk”

Likewise, the rest of the media will never ask about this provocative statement. They understand that this was just pillow-talk intended to stay between lovers, and not intended for wider dissemination.

The incestuous corruption runs so deep, we may not have a historical precedent for comparison. Any historians out there want to weigh in?

This is REALLY [Not] Funny [Anymore] – UPDATED

Buzzfeed is all agog over Obama’s secondhand campaign slogan.

But that’s not the funny part. If you can manage to read the entire post, you’ll find this gem:

According to the Obama campaign, the video will be played at President Obama’s first campaign rallies on Saturday.

First? I thought his first campaign rallies where the first week of his administration. After all, he’s held more fundraisers in his first (and hopefully only) term than the last five Presidents combined.

Yep, FIVE.

Can you hear me now?

UPDATE: Oh my, it gets even better. From the Washington Times

The Obama campaign apparently didn’t look backwards into history when selecting its new campaign slogan, “Forward” — a word with a long and rich association with European Marxism.

Many Communist and radical publications and entities throughout the 19th and 20th centuries had the name “Forward!” or its foreign cognates. Wikipedia has an entire section called “Forward (generic name of socialist publications).”

“The name Forward carries a special meaning in socialist political terminology. It has been frequently used as a name for socialist, communist and other left-wing newspapers and publications,” the online encyclopedia explains.

The slogan “Forward!” reflected the conviction of European Marxists and radicals that their movements reflected the march of history, which would move forward past capitalism and into socialism and communism.

UPDATE II: Honestly, folks, I couldn’t make this stuff up if I tried. Sing along with the Brown Shirts now…

Now it’s not so funny.

Second Verse, Same As The First

Well, after a week of non-planned-mental-absence, nothing much has changed. While I gather what is left of my thoughts, amuse yourself with the following:

Eric Holder hasn’t quit, yet.

The Herman Cain smears have started, right on schedule.

Our beloved Gerard has pulled a Lazarus on us. Thankfully, according to insider reports, he is mending nicely and will be back to his fully-operational Death Star status soon.

“Every writer is unique, both in thievery… and in execution.”

24-20. Heh. Gators eat boogers.

An uncle explains redistribution of wealth to his nephew.

If the pot recognizes the kettle for what it is, does that make the kettle paranoid that the pot is on to it?

French President Nicolas Sarkozy saw the writing on the wall back in the spring when he warned that Obama was leading America down the slippery slope of socialism, along with a variety of other ills.

It’s getting pretty obvious when even the Russian media notices that America is being pushed to a more, shall we say, collective way of thinking?

Do you want to be pushed like that? Do you want your children or grandchildren to grow up in a free society or in a socialist utopia? Remember Lara’s daughter in Dr. Zhivago – such a beautiful child, spouting communist propaganda to each of Yuri’s questions. Do you want that in your future?

Just because the 112th Congress convened yesterday doesn’t mean we’re safe, that we’re out of the woods yet. Don’t let your guard down one second – the so-called progressives are still fighting against conservative values and the American dream. Don’t let them win.

Start local. After almost five years of ranting here in the ether, I’m planning on attending the county GOP meeting this Saturday. Who knows what will happen. But I’ll be there to let them know I’m holding them accountable.

Who’s with me?

You need no better illustration of how out of touch the Left/the Media are than last weekend’s “Restoring Sanity” rally on the National Mall. If you haven’t voted yet, check out Ed Morrissey’s pointed critique of the fatwa-spewing singer.

This goes hand-in-hand with Obama’s visit to Charlotteville, VA on Friday, where his supporters admitted they supported socialism.

Then head out to the polls, remembering how much the Left hates you.

FreedomWorks Suffers Cyber Attack

This morning. The enemies of America will stoop to nothing to stay entrenched!

The attack crippled the site at about 9:45 a.m. just when the fund-raising drive was publicized on the radio by conservative talk show host Glenn Beck. The group estimates it lost about $80,000 in potential donations as it struggled to bring its site back online.

An “autopsy” showed a highly sophisticated hacker struck at 6:55 a.m., the group said, setting the stage for the eventual meltdown. The server was wiped out, though group officials said no data was lost or stolen.

“We think the idea was to take our site down until after the election,” said Kara Pally, web developer for FreedomWorks. “This was politically motivated.”

Coincidence? If you believe that, I’ve got a bridge to sell ya.

Sic Semper Tyrannis.

More on the Oval Office Rug

Remember last week’s grousing on the Dust Bowl Decoration of the Oval Office? Well, it gets better.

Two of the quotes woven into the border were, shall we say, mis-researched? Because in this day and age of everyone gets a trophy, we can’t just say they are just flat out wrong, can we?

First, the MLK quote is misattributed. King used the quote from Theodore Parker, an antebellum Unitarian minister and abolitionist, that he admired in many of his speeches.

Secondly, the quote from Teddy Roosevelt is taken out of context, making it appear that Roosevelt supported a socialist state. Reading the whole speech, you learn he certainly did NOT.

There is also the question of whether the designers took artistic license with the Presidential Seal woven into the rug. At first glance, it looks more like the Vice-President’s Seal, than the President’s.

Good grief, did these people skip every bit of homework in high school? Do they not know how to spell g-o-o-g-l-e?

We are in the best of hands.

Add this to the “Reset” button FAIL and the numerous other blunders. Is it any wonder why more and more people are coming around to the idea that maybe this guy wasn’t isn’t ready? Still?

The Accessorized Marxists

Via Larwyn,

The Department of Justice has unveiled their new website, sans Old Glory. Resplendent in shades of Soviet gray, it includes the catchy tag line:

“The common law is the will of mankind, issuing from the life of the people.”

Now which Founding Father voiced these words? Jefferson? Adams? Madison? Au contraire, mon ami, the quipping quotster was none other than C. Wilfred Jenks, leading proponent of the “international law” movement back in the 1930’s. The group’s goal was establishing a system of global common law and (wait for it) global workers’ rights.

Call it Marxism, call it Progressivism, call it Socialism — under any of those names it definitely makes the DOJ look corrupt in their sleek, new black website with Marxist accessories to match.

Don’t believe me? Go see for yourself – http://www.justice.gov/

This madness needs to stop.

Death Panels? What Death Panels?

Remember when Obama miffed that his delicate sensibilities were bruised by the outcry against the perceived Obamacare “death panels?” By people who’d actually read the bill or understood the ramification of government intrusion into personal health decisions? Regarding Britian’s existing NHS:

When government controls all the resources and makes all the decisions, the “death pathway” is an entirely predictable result. Patients and their families no longer control the decisions made in health care, because they no longer control the compensation. Even if the “death pathway” doesn’t appear in the ObamaCare bill, the nationalization of heath care sets the stage for the kind of “comparative effectiveness” decisions that lead to its implementation.

Dig this:

The FDA has voted 12-1 to rescind its endorsement of Avastin, the world’s best selling cancer drug. Also a the drug of choice for colon cancer, it was approved for treatment of women with breast cancer that has spread in 2008.

The Avastin recommendation led to revived allegations that President Barack Obama’s overhaul of the US health care system would mean many would be denied treatments currently available.

During the debate, those opposed to the reforms cited Britain’s National Institute for Clinical Excellence, which decides whether new treatments should be made available on the NHS on the basis of cost effectiveness, as an example of the sort of drug rationing that amounted to a “death panel”.

David Vitter, the Republican Senator for Louisiana, said the FDA decision amounted to rationing health care.

“I shudder at the thought of a government panel assigning a value to a day of a person’s life,” he said. “It is sickening to think that care would be withheld from a patient simply because their life is not deemed valuable enough.

“I fear this is the beginning of a slippery slope leading to more and more rationing under the government takeover of health care that is being forced on the American people.”

By the way,

Breast cancer is the second most common cause of cancer death among US women, with 40,000 last year.

Ace gives it a flaming skull.

This is criminal. To avoid a difficult political debate — and the honest confession that “bending the curve” of Medicare costs to free up money for ObamaCare is going to require a lesser standard of treatment — the FDA is killing a safe and effective drug and thereby outlawing for anyone, including those who can be helped by this drug and no other, and who are paying for the drug with their own private insurance or own out-of-pocket money.

In other words: He is doing exactly what he vowed he would not. He is “equalizing” health access not by bringing up care for those who have little, but by reducing care by full might of federal legal power for those who have “too much.”

Moe Lane quantifies the decision in lives not saved, but lost.

Criminal, indeed.

Howard Zinn – The FBI Files

Robert Stacy McCain has produced an excellent post on Howard Zinn, mining the many articles and files released by the FBI on July 30 (by FOIA request). It’s too good to excerpt here, except for one little tease, so you’ll have to go read it all there.

America won the Cold War, but the Communists won the campuses.

The FBI tracked the man and his communist activity for years. Of course, our Main Stream Marxist Media is taking their usual blase, “What’s the big deal?” attitude about the whole thing.

Michelle Malkin noted last year Zinn’s continued influence in pushing “social justice” in elementary curriculums. He’d written toxic, anti-American history textbooks for years – all shaded by his red-hued glasses – so why not venture into the younger grades? He died in early 2010; but Hollywood carries on his legacy.

Follow all the other blogs linking Stacy – it’s worth the time to see just how “revered” this dreadful man really was.

Memeorandum thread here.

Dr. Thomas Hendricks, Call Your Service

Watch this well done video by Dr. Daniel Cox (sorry it won’t embed). That’s ok, I’ll wait.

Going Galt: When Will Surgeons Say Enough is Enough? from Daniel Cox on Vimeo.

I like the part about denying surgical care to lawyers until some level of tort reform is achieved.

Smitty weighs in,

One surmises that the Democratic strategy is to rely on the American non-attention span, hoping that the people will just ‘kind of forget’ the whole mess in time for November.

I doubt that will happen.

BREAKING: RedState Has Elena Kagan’s Thesis

There it is, in black and white.

This proves Elena Kagan is an open and avowed socialist. The woman declares that socialists must stick together instead of fracture in order to advance a socialist agenda, which Kagan advocates.

If you can’t stomach wading through the whole thing, read the conclusion.

Opinions welcome.

Look at our money – In God We Trust.

The principle of thirds (comes from Revelation, where a third of the host was cast out):
——- The Left – 1/3 ||| the middle – 1/3 ||| The Right – 1/3 ——-
Left and right constantly fight for a foothold in the middle.

In his 82 years, he’d never seen such a power grab as last Sunday. He’s lived through Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin and Saddam.

We are the modern day patriots.

Four books that will help with the fight:
– The Bible
– The Constitution (always have the pocket one handy)
The 5000 Year Leap
God’s Influence in the Making of America (available soon on unibook)

All our patriotic songs reference God.

The Northwest Ordinance, passed in 1787, outlined how each state would be admitted to the Union. Each state, in it’s education system, was required to teach:
1. Religion
2. Morals
3. Knowledge (in this order!)

Four foundational documents:

– Declaration of Independence
– The Constitution
– Preamble to The Constitution
– The Bill of Rights

Why are we where we are? We fell asleep. Progressives started taking over in the late 1800’s. Through the courts, constitutional law was gradually superseded by case law.

How God is involved in our freedoms:
James 1:25 – But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
Leviticus 25:10 – And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubile unto you; and ye shall return every man unto his possession, and ye shall return every man unto his family.

The next Progressive takeover was 1913, when Teddy Roosevelt pushed the passage of the 16th Amendment. The 17th Amendment followed 30 days later. The 17th Amendment destroyed the state’s rights outlined by Article 10 of the Constitution. Simple, blatant greed.

While everyone constantly spouts “the separation of church and state” as a constitutional tenet, it is NEVER mentioned in the foundational documents. The only source of the phrase is in a letter to Dunbury Methodist Church by Thomas Jefferson.

What the Constitution offers is not freedom FROM religion, but freedom OF religion.

If the 17th Amendment were negated or never passed, our current situation with ObamaCare would handily defeated by a quorum of states representatives (interesting that the quorum of the Senate is 37, and there are (at last count) 37 states acting to sue the government over the legislation). Now it will be much harder. Now, 2/3 of both houses would need to propose and then pass amendments or call a convention.

Through case law and legislation, the meaning of the Constitution has been completely altered. It needs to be brought back to it’s original intent. We can do it through amendments, both new and repealed.

During the Q&A, there were several pointed and detailed questions about Constitutional Conventions.

The first amendment to be proposed should be one LIMITING the power of the EXECUTIVE. Through treaties and executive orders signed by Obama, our rights are being given away.

Required reading – The Law by Frederic Bastiat.

In 1994, conservatives sounded the first warnings of the dangers of the House/Senate/White House being controlled by the same party.

Democrats are already saying that if GOP wins, you’ll lose your healthcare.

The WSJ article that shocked, shocked the Democrats. Neal called it “the Law of Unintended Circumstances.” Law requires large corporations to immediately report to the SEC any change or condition that effects their financial health. $100M Catepillar, $1B ATT, etc. all due to the “financial market change” anticipated by ObamaCare. $14B potential lost profits this year ALONE.

Waxman is mad at these companies and their CEO’s that they dare differ with the imperial economic decree and must make an appearance in front of Waxman’s committees (more show trials) to EXPLAIN why their judgement on ObamaCare is different than theirs.

On the National Debt’s cost to us, the American people:
– On Obama’s first day of office: $56K per household
– today: $72K per household
– projected 2011 budget: $170K per household

To keep ObamaCare on the books, they have to demonize those who are opposed to it.

The Obama Zombies book has piqued his interest.

Liberals don’t want to have a conversation with any conservative on the HCR bill because they don’t want to explain why
– Pelosi, other officials are exempt?
– how to pay for it?
– they voted for it?
– guaranteed issue for everyone?
– weren’t other options considered?
– they believe the ‘mandate’ is constitutional?

They are emboldened now, and will push their agenda aggressively. Things on the way (yes, it gets worse):
– Cap and Trade (already passed by House)
– VAT
– Pension Plan grab (“Request for Comments” is already out).
– Massive National Debt

Obama’s own words – “the private sector is the enemy.”

He is working on a project where he is rewriting The Federalist Papers in modern-day language. The Revolutionary War was always a minority undertaking.

Are there Americans today willing to make the same sacrifices to reclaim our economic liberty as the patriots who marched through the snow, shoeless, between NY and Philadelphia to fight for independence?

The answer – VOTE THEM OUT.

Give them the finger – the finger that will push the button on the voting machine in November!
