Almost There…

The project that ate the universe is almost complete – so i should be back ranting at full volume by next week. Or maybe as early as tomorrow!

In my snippets of spare time, I’ve also been reading “Unholy War: America, Israel & Radical Islam” by Randall Price. Quite chewy. And thought provoking. I’ll be writing more about it next week. The “To Read” stack has gotten rather large.

In the meantime (via Drudge), this is just plain sick. Michelle Malkin has already jumped all over it.

Incurious. What a great word – and a great description of the tunnel-visioned malaise the sorry MSM has fallen into…

Truth be told, the press is staggeringly incurious about most things, and what it is interested in – which in the past few years means “screwing Bush,” sorry, but it’s true – it obsesses on.

[…] What bothers me [the Anchoress] is that, while some in the press seem to understand that their industry is destroying itself, none of them seem capable of turning the ship around. Rather, they plunge forward – the news is NEW, it’s all about Katie! Sorry, the problems destroying American journalism cannot be fixed through cosmetics. Throwing a newer body into a damaged, decrepit and fragile chair will not make the chair stronger or more reliable. And I say this having declared plainly that I would rather see Couric succeed than fail, if by “success” we mean she can restore some credibility to the craft of journalism, not merely that she can raise broadcast ratings in an anemic time-slot.

That’s an awfully big responsibility to put on someone’s shoulders. No matter how photo-shopped they are.

UPDATED: The Anchoress says it all. By “jumping the shark” with their Bush Derangment Syndrome, the left may have finally shot themselves in the foot. Finally, they may have gotten the attention of the general public and they are repulsed by what they see.

This much hate backfires on the hater. You’d think they’d know it by now, but they don’t, of course. They always overplay their hand. They can be counted on to do it.

Boys of Summer

When I started this blog, my intent was to write about the South of my childhood. The South that is vanishing. The South that my children only get a fleeting glimpses of. Then the world crowded in…

Well, this week nothing can take away the pure unadulterated joy of watching a bunch of boys from Columbus, GA win the Little League World Series. Just the elation on their faces makes my world right again, if only for a while. It makes me remember ballparks long ago. The smell of leather and sweaty boys, red clay dust over everything. Bugs flying in the lights. The bite of cold Cokes in little green bottles on a blistering day (be sure to look on the bottom for the city). Dugouts and bubble gum and sticky hands from holding the bat. No one wore sunscreen. No one drank Gatorade. Those cute boys in Pony League. They got to wear spikes and play under the lights.

You never really forget.

Other Georgiana I celebrate today:

Voice of the Dawgs

…there is never a time when [Larry] Munson isn’t thinking about, or more likely fretting over, Georgia football. It is why the broadcaster has become synonymous with all things red and black, and it is why the 83-year-old is arguably the most loved figure in the Bulldog pantheon. end box

Lake Laura Gardens – while the link to the wonderful story of the Shelleys has vanished off of ajc.com, the pictures have not. This haven continues to resist the development that surrounds it in Cobb County.

Whatyahave? Whatyahave?

What part of “unharmed” don’t you understand?

Ok, they’re free….BUT….

Maybe the reason the MSM continues to spew that Centanni & Wiig are “unharmed” is that they had no faith to renounce to begin with. You know, journalists and all… Remember that these are the same people who would sue over a Manger Scene or Menorah or Easter Egg Trees or prayer at a football game. Their “belief system” IS no faith.

All Things Beautiful says it best:

The liberals have replaced religion with politics, it’s hardly surprising that they don’t feel threatened by converting to Islam, after all politics is so all-defining and of such paramount importance to them that it defines who they are. Faithless is in, it’s cool, it’s liberating….into the abyss they go. But it is important for us to know that they are not afraid, that they are brave, that there is no imminent threat and that we are simply fear-mongering at best and bellicose at worst. Do we “need to return to the Iberian peninsula of the 14th and 15th century when the Inquisition forced conversion or the Herodian forced conversions that rent apart society for no purpose” to prove it? I sincerely hope not.

I hope not either….

Convoluted World Wide Woe

Today was going to be another one of those mind-melting days; buried deep in code. Imagine my astonishment when I found The Anchoress, Fausta, Sigmund, Carl & Alfred and Gagdad Bob ALL expounding on the exact topic that had been bouncing around in my head the last few weeks since school started – parents & children/evil & virtue/darkness & light/Radical Islam, the rest of the World & what the future holds. In a way, it’s good to know that I am not the only distraught parent on this planet.

The Anchoress took another Fausta post as her springboard. And she’s dead on. With teenage children myself, I try to watch (read: stomach) some of their favorite shows to get a feel of “whatzup”. Gag. On Disney & Nick, the girls are always in charge/the boys are inept/parents are clueless & derided. Don’t even get me started on S&TC, The OC, Nip/Tuck, you name it. It’s just a rehash of who slept with who. Greed. Lust. Violence. Conspicuous Consumption. Anything goes. Welcome to AnyWhere High; now show us your boobs.

[Fausta was at a nail shop.] Seventeen gives a lot of sex advice, not just on birth control, but on how. Glamour, Jane, and Cosmo might be marketed to women in their early twenties but I assure you that when I was 12 years old (way before Jane was concieved) I was reading my neighbor’s older sisters’ Cosmos at their house. In a recent issue of Jane, for instance, there was clear and explicit advise on how to perform oral sex, and how and where to have sex in public. The subject of the articles is not much different from what Gerard Van der Leun was editing back when he worked for Penthouse.

If you believe I exaggerate, read what (according to the NYT article The Taming of the Slur) Atoosa Rubenstein, editor of Seventeen magazine, has to say:

“Today, ‘slut,’ even ‘ho’ – girls use it in a fun way, a positive way,” said Atoosa Rubenstein, the editor in chief of Seventeen magazine, adding that a phrase such as “you little slut” has become a way for girlfriends to bust each other’s chops.

As Betsy Newmark asked,

Does this strike anyone else as really a sick sign of where we are in our society?

The net result, as The Anchoress points out, is that many young men are finding

that intimacy has been defined downward, especially for our young girls, to mean little more than a “hook-up.” This is something Buster talks to me about. Children, but especially girls, are being sexualized at ever-earlier ages. The sexual messages begin very young in television commercials and on the clothes-store racks, and most of Buster’s generation grew up watching Friends and Sex in the City and thinking that this was what life was: a series of sexual encounters with no emotional attachments, no repercussions, no pain, no loss of oneself.

Sexualized early, many girls are either overly jaded or mistrustful and remote. Buster says a troubling number of girls his age are sexually hyper-active, but unhappy and lonely – they cannot make good, healthy connections with respectable young men, because they don’t “get” the guys who open car doors for them and who look for a relationship to be about more than a “hook-up” or perfunctory oral sex. (A romance recently busted up because Buster wanted a real relationship, and the girl, a nice-enough kid, simply did not know what that meant!)

These are the very same children, who just a few years before, giggled in the bathtub with younger siblings, played in the mud, jumped in the bed with mom & dad during thunderstorms, made houses out of chairs & blankets and stuck Cheeto’s up their noses. Fausta again:

Children are the salvation of their parents. Frequently we don’t realize this, but it is true.

That is why every day millions of parents around the world work three jobs to send their kids to good schools, mortgage their houses to meet college tuition fees, donate blood and kidneys and blood marrow so their children can survive, stay awake at night taking care of sick kids, and do the millions of tasks that parents willingly do. Any good parent gives their life for their child.

The very same beloved babes the world now uses and throws away.

There’s the acceptance in the Western World, in the name of multiculturalism and who knows what else, of societies that indulge into what for most of us is inherently revolting, aberrant degeneracy: the weaponization of children. Children suicide bombers, children witnessing public acts of unspeakable barbarity, children used as shields during gun battles, and the corpses of handicapped children (link in French) used as (warning: graphic images) (delinked) death porn in a propaganda war.

I think one of the hardest things to stomach these days is the current collegic atmosphere. It’s The OC on steroids. Now granted, I went to the #1 party school of the nation (when I was there). But putting the multicultural, p.c. mumbo-jumbo aside (just read some of Mike Adams) that our kids are forced to regurgitate for grades (what ever happened to independent thought? That’s a topic for another day!) or that hapless administrators force down the student body’s respective throats in the spirit of “free speech”, let’s address how these students treat one another. Anchoress:

While the girls are untethered and confused balls of sexuality, too many boys are learning to see the girls not as young women to be respected, admired and (in a chivalrous sense) looked after, but as disposable spitoons for their disregarded and misunderstood sperm. I’ve heard my sons and his friends complain about it – that their generation is very screwed up about how to relate to each other, that too many of both gender have no idea what self-respect is, that they treat themselves, and each other, badly. They crave intimacy but have no idea how to achieve it when they’ve been raised to throw everything – their virginity, their standards, their drive to succeed (it’s not cool to get good grades) – their potential, their very selves away. You cannot learn or achieve intimacy if you’re busy conforming to the Culture of Now – what Flip Wilson used to call The Church of What’s Happening Now – you’re too busy just trying to keep up.

And again, in her laud of the He-Man, (brought on by looking at older pictures of herself), she asks about what has happened to the sincerity in our relationships with each other. I have been doing that too, lately. Pictures of myself in college – was I really that thin? That pretty? My hair would really stay that straight? Even outside? But one thing I do know, is that the young man on the other side of that lens, who eventually became my husband, loved me and cherished me more than his own life. The “rules” are so confused now…

It really rang a bell with Buster, as I said earlier, and in thinking about this 25 year old picture, and men in general, I realized we don’t think of men as “protectors” any more. I guess the feminists have more or less trained society to think that women “don’t need protecting,” just as – apparently – women do not need to use some discretion in their alcohol consumption when they are (for example, at a frat party) surrounded by guys they do not know. While a girl drinking to excess is by no means an invitation to abuse and exploitation, by the same token, the world is not an innocent little arcade full of angels and fairies…a woman has to be smart about where she goes and with whom she surrounds herself. If something, God forbid, happens to her, the men are asked, “why didn’t you look out for her?”

Are teens just consumable goods, out there for the taking? What happened to building strong young men and women, good citizens, big thinkers? Does it even matter that you try to raise your kids in a good Christian home, with morals and values, staying involved in their school & activities, giving them to God each day to protect from evil?

Gagdad Bob says (read the whole thing!):

At bottom, what the [sixth] commandment is emphasizing is that life is sacred–it is of infinite value; therefore, do everything you can to honor and protect it. Clearly, not all cultures do so. Some, as in so much of the Muslim world, worship death, not life. And this inversion is reflected throughout these sick cultures, in that they are “fruitless.” That is, they produce nothing but misery, both to themselves and to others. They produce nothing for the body, i.e., no medicines, no new ways to produce food; they produce nothing for the mind, i.e., no science, no translations of books, no freedom of inquiry; and they produce nothing for the spirit, i.e., only the spiritual shackles of their medieval death cult.

Most soul murders are undoubtedly committed by those who are already so spiritually damaged as to be functionally dead. These undead souls such as a Nasrallah, an Arafat, or an Amahdinejad, speak to us from “the other side,” from the shadow world that is created when the soul has been so damaged that it essentially exits the body, leaving only a human animal in its place. But other demonic energies rush in to fill the void, so that the individual becomes a sort of “antihuman.” At their core, they are filled with unbearable envy toward the living, and the only way they can assuage this envy is to kill and kill plentifully. Life is a reminder of their own walking death, hence, “death to Israel,” that primordial symbol of life: l’chaim.

The undead also cannot help converting their children to their way of non-being. In ways both subtle and profound, they will interact with their children in a pathological manner, causing the children to internalize the same virus that afflicts their parents. Regardless, the virus always goes by the name of “love,” which simply further confuses the child. In the end, they will not be able to distinguish the difference between love and hate or truth and lies, any more than they can distinguish between life and death.

That depraved Muslim couple that was going to use their baby as a bomb surely love their child, except that the love flows out of death, not life. Likewise, the proud Palestinian parents who raise their children to be mass murderers undoubtedly love their children, as do the Muslim parents who murder their daughters for holding hands with a Christian boy. Death loves, just as the person who doesn’t believe in truth seeks to accumulate “knowledge.” Our universities are filled with lie-roasted academia nuts who know much. They too worship death–the death of the intellect and its innate spiritual wisdom.

In this cultural nightmare, how do I raise my boy to be The Man? To honor and to cherish not only women, but life and the human race? To love God and country? Is there enough prayer in this frail jar of clay to keep him on the right path? He’s been in high school only two weeks and already the dread looms over me like a dark cloud. Just HOW do I do this?

Like the Tin Man said “Now I know I have a heart….because it’s breaking…”

UPDATED: Even more from MaxedOutMama:

The best thing a mother raising a daughter can do in this society is to teach her to be virtuous, and to make demands of herself to do the right thing towards others. Then, and only then, will the daughter become an adult woman who is capable of recognizing and appreciating a fine man. Because decency is hard. Decency is a struggle! Trying to live a decent life is an epic adventure much more praiseworthy and admirable than climbing Mount Everest. Anyone who tries it will find that out, and in light of the knowledge of her own failures to live up to her own standards will then be able to appreciate the attempt in a man.

Here’s the truth: If women want virtuous men, then they need to publicly say that, and live out that truth in their own lives. If women want abusive, useless men, then the best way to produce them is to announce that all men are untrustworthy and vaguely sinister addictions against which every enlightened woman should be on guard. In our public culture, women treat men as if they are food addictions, and constantly go on anti-male diets, fearful that an extra pound of male-appreciation might creep into their psyches and wreck their superbly lean and mean naked-psyche profile in the vast, bathic, confessional world of Oprah, hallowed be her name.

The same can be said for both girls AND boys. God help us all!

A Spoonful of Sugar

As I come up for a gulp of air, out of the swirling black-hole project of galactic proportions, I see the Anchoress is up and well again. Hooray!

God works as God will, regardless of our sensibilities. I believe that God is not done with Rudy Giuliani, just as he is not done with you or me or Mel Gibson. As my Li’l Bro Thom says to me: Grace builds on nature. And all those high-falutin’ social issues won’t matter diddly squat once Iran is armed and aiming its big guns at the West, demanding we convert or die.

[…]

Difficult times demand of us difficult choices. From where I sit, it doesn’t appear that endorsing someone who strictly adheres to orthodox Catholicism will necessarily get the job done that needs doing, to defeat the larger and more ominous forces that are threatening our nation, Western Civilization and, yes, our faith. Can you show me the conservative Christian/Catholic candidate who is electable (yes, that matters) and who would take a strong enough stand in favor of America, and in opposition to appeasement? The ideal does not exist.

There are no accidents, and it was not an accident that Rudy Giuliani was the Mayor of NYC on 9/11. Just think, had he not been diagnosed with prostate cancer and forced to withdraw from the 2000 senate race, he might well have been in Washington during that attack – gathered in the Capitol Rotunda, (with United 93 bearing down upon him) – along with everyone else in DC (except, oddly, Hillary Clinton) for a big hoo-hah event focusing on Education.

Giuliani would not have been in the middle of NYC, and that city would have died under the ministrations of the ineffectual Mark Greene. There is a reason why Giuliani was there that day – perhaps we were meant to see him in action, in that role, on a global stage.

While you’re there, read her post on Ben Stein’s medicine that we all need to take. Ben says what I’ve had in the back of my mind for quite a while.

And In the Darkness, Bind Them

“Sons of Gondor, of Rohan, my brothers. I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me. A day may come when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day. An hour of wolves and shattered shields, when the age of men comes crashing down, but it is not this day. This day we fight! For all that you hold dear on this good Earth, I bid you stand, Men of the West!” Aragorn/LOTR, The Return of the King

J.R.R. Tolkien understood very well the difference between good and evil. The rest of the world would do well to listen and learn.

Over at The American Thinker, James Lewis outlines some of the nicknames that are floating around for the Iranian NutJob. While not wanting to flatter him with a comparison to Sauron, he’s still evil and slimy – more along the lines of an unwashed Klingon.

Iran’s sinister President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad simply begs for a nickname. What should it be? Mullah Strangelove? Doctor Kool-Aid? Darth Vader? Apparently his Iranian enemies call him “the monkey.”

But the nickname problem was already solved in the 1980s, when, according to Brett Stephens in the Wall Street Journal,

Numerous Iranian sources allege that in the 1980s (he) worked as an interrogator and executioner in Evin Prison in Tehran. They say (he) earned the nickname Tir Khalas Zan, or “The Terminator,” for (his) methods there.

The Baron at Gates of Vienna is having a Motivational Slogan Contest. Read them all…. My entry (which I think did not make the deadline) was

“This is your brain. This is your brain splattered all over the pavement after the Islamofacist Terrorist cuts off your head. Any questions?”

proteinwisdom has a disturbing Orwellian report of Iranian government workers going from building to building, smashing satellite dishes. Could this timing be a coincidence? August 22 is a happy day in my family and I want it to stay that way.

The Anchoress is under the weather again. If it’s the same sinus happiness I suffer with, zing extra prayers her way. There’s nothing like trying to function with a ball of goo the size of a tennis ball in the back of your throat. While she’s mending, read this post on the Muslim conquest of Britian.

All Things Beautiful writes on the thugs-in-charge in Syria, and American Digest discusses the most ancient virus in the world. Pajamas Media has a new look – Gerard has been a busy boy.

Beware the Eye of Sauron.

Back in a Bit

The dreaded black-hole-mega-band-width-sucking project has reared its ugly head again in the bug-fix stage. So I’ll be otherwise detained for a while. Sheesh.
In the meantime…

Toldja-so

Hope

You’ve got to be kidding

Boys of summer – (well at least it’s not feast or famine like the hapless Braves)

I get it – why don’t you?

Our many freedoms stand solely on our ability to maintain our national security. It’s as simple as that. And Britain, despite a small difference of opinion around 230 years ago, remains our staunchest ally. The Anchoress has a superb roundup of facts past and present, along with some scolding words for those that DON’t GET IT.

There is a time to be a child, to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child. Then there is a time to put childish things away. If you want to disagree with policies meant to keep you safe, do it. If you want to hate a man or even a movement, do it…but do it with something that goes beyond adolescent spouting off, backed up by nothing more than “feelings,” “caring,” and hysterical, dramatic angst.

Dan Henninger/WSJ gets it, too.

In a better world, the U.S. war on terror, at its core, would be bipartisan. That world was what Joe Lieberman’s politics represented. That world is dead. Democratic support for the Republican administration’s plans to fight these terrorists is down to about zero. This means the Democrats must have a plan of their own to defeat terror. Every Republican running for office at every level this fall should force his opponent to describe it. And if they aren’t certain about the details, they can call Ned Lamont.

Why, oh why, do these idiots even speak? The latest “news” is that this story is out there simply to distract from the Lamont victory. Morons! Are the Democrats soooo dhim-witted they cannot do date math? What’s a month away from today? Anyone? Hellllllooooo??

Beat to the Punch

Well, as I predicted here, the McKinney camp starting slinging anti-Semitic slurs before the run-off results were even in. Would you believe it though? It was one of (delinked) her bodyguards (if that’s what you would call him), that beat Daddy McKinney to the punch.

Stupid is as stupid does.

Ding, Dong, She’s GONE

In typical fashion, Cynthia McKinney cranks up the blame machine.

Cynthia McKinney is blaming the media and electronic voting machines for her defeat.

The campaign manager for the state’s first black congresswoman blames white voters and Republicans who crossed over to vote in her Democratic runoff. But once all the votes were counted, it was apparent McKinney also had plenty of fellow Democrats to blame.

I just can’t wait for her Dad to chime in.

Hank Johnson still has a long way to go in this election. He took care of business and ran his campaign with dignity. He let Cynthia bury herself.

Some voters, both Democrats and Republicans, interviewed by The Associated Press at polling places in McKinney’s district said they were fed up with her controversial behavior, including her scuffle in March with a Capitol Hill police officer.

Seeya, wouldntwannabeya. You can let those braids out now.

UPDATED: More at PeachPundit on the literal blow-by-blow at Cynthia’s HQ last night.

Mike Adams has the Answer

As usual, Mike Adams cuts right to the chase on what Isreal should do to Hezbollah.

Outstanding!

So…if McKinney loses, again, is it the JEW’S fault, again?

Last night at church, a conversation sparked a memory about the first time that Cynthia McKinney lost a reelection bid. It was 2002 or so. Her dad, a piece of work unto his own bad self, blamed it on the Jews. J-E-W-S.

This morning, handy search engine in hand, I dove in only to find that Donkey Cons had already done all this homework way back in March! In fact, with eerie clairvoyance, they outline a plethora of McKinney al-familia bad behavior.

… later, I learned that Cynthia McKinney’s tendency toward crackpot demagoguery is an inherited trait. Her father, Billy McKinney, was a state representative who strongly backed the racial gerrymandering of Georgia’s congressional districts. This ill-advised measure had the convenient effect of carving out the district that first elected his daughter to Congress, but it also helped destroy the Democratic Party in Georgia (and nationally) by carving out several nearly all-white districts that sent Republicans to Congress in 1994.

So Billy McKinney got his daughter at seat in Congress, and the Democratic Party paid the price. Brilliant.

[…]

Let’s review, then, what we know about the McKinneys:

Am I the only one who sees a pattern here?

Read the whole thing. Geeee, I wish I lived in the 4th District. I’d vote her a** right out of there!

Iran’s Family Tree

The Iranian Family Tree is coming to light.  ATB cuts to the chase, as usual.

Hezbollah for their part have managed to infiltrate every pore of the Lebanese Government, and according to the statistics ‘rule’ 80% of the population. By entering the Government they have managed to divide and conquer the anti-Syrian sentiment, and undermine the opposition. President Emile Lahoud is a puppet of Syria, and Syria is a puppet of Iran. […]

Therefore, unless Hezbollah is conquered, Lebanon will become a second Iran, despite the ludicrous suggestions by the left that “Iran poses no threat”, and then there will be no going back. Otherwise, the next step will be for Hezbollah to win the elections in Lebanon, and formally rule the Government and the militia, which they have ruled unofficially through the deep pockets of Iran, notwithstanding the fact, that they already officially control 25% of the sovereign land of Lebanon. Add to that their power to rule through fear, and you have a metastasizing cancer to which there is only one outcome.

And in a most poignant point, she notes

Iran has outsourced its war against the infidels to Hamas, to Hezbollah, to Muqtada al-Sadar in Iraq, to name but a few.

Lance at The Muslim Question isn’t afraid to use the F word – FASCIST.  Read further and you’ll see the disturbing parallels…

Fascism requires a steady supply of unemployed, angry young men. [Check]

It needs a public willing to persecute minorities and strip individuals of basic rights. [Check]

It is helped by schools that indoctrinate rather than educate. [Check]

The European nations that suffered most under Nazi fascism in the 1930s and ’40s still take special precautions to keep fascist tendencies under control. The other day, Polish police shut down a neo-fascist Web site promoting hatred against gays, socialists, feminists and other “enemies of the race.”  […]

Fascist states share many characteristics: They cruelly discriminate. They eliminate political opposition. They take over the economy or empower an elite group of loyalists to run it, along with the military, the courts, the police, the schools and the religious institutions. They impose no limits on state authority and celebrate punishment, as in Iran where teenage girls are hanged in public if they sexually misbehave.

The most sinister part of fascism is its view that certain neighbors or races are unworthy to exist. This ugly, defining snarl is impossible to mask. Fascist leaders make hatred a state policy. They put it in their newspapers, on billboards and on TV.

These aren’t your garden variety Klingons or Romulans….these are nasty. The true face of evil. They are Nazgul; or the Shadows from Z’ha’dum; minions of the dark master himself.  Is there a “One Ring to Rule Them All” parallel here as well?  I’m sure there is – my beloved J.R.R.T. rightly understood the differences between light and darkness.  And that darkness will not prevail as long as there is one small, stout heart to fight it.

Part of the end times prophecies say that Satan will become bolder as his time on Earth draws shorter.  Seems to me he’s been mighty busy lately.  Especially pulling the wool over Ahmadinejad’s eyes while he’s in his prayer closet.

Dear Anchoress, who’s been under the weather lately, rises up to write and as usual, she’s right on target.

Yeah…let’s just give the Islamofascists that small nation, Israel…then they’ll stop their global jihad, right? They’ll cast off the burkas from their women, and stop the “honor killings” and they’ll stop blowing up infidels -and other Muslims, if it suits the case. They’ll stop talking about beheading the PM of Canada, or blowing up the Sears Tower, or about converting the rest of us to Islam (or promising our slaughter if they cannot) and they’ll let gays live in peace and women forge ahead to their best potentials, and they’ll stop dressing their kids up as suicide bombers. They’ll stop standing at the base of the Eiffel Tower and slicing their heads open so that the blood may run free…they’ll stop asking the governments of their newly adopted countries to allow them to live under Shar’ia law. They’ll assimilate! They’ll get jiggy wit’ us! They’ll embrace popular culture and find it sophisticated! They’ll just lighten up and hang out with the rest of us tolerant folks – they’ll start worrying about “the greatest threat to humankind before us: GLOBAL WARMING!”.  Right? […]

It won’t save you, though. Nor your kids. Your kids not going to be thanking you in 20 years for “taking down [Bush] and making him pay”, while you chose to “save the planet” from an amorphous boogeyman that scientists cannot even agree exists – they’re not going to thank you because they’ll be too busy dealing with the ever-advancing, ever-thirsty Islamofascists who – way back in 2006 or 2007 – were not appeased when you “gave” them the little nation of Israel and hoped they’d go away.

Israel is in our prayers everyday, all over the world.  Many, many people know what will happen if Israel falls.  It’s becoming more evident, even to those in the deepest denial, what the stakes are here.  Finally, she quotes Eric Hoffer

I have a premonition that will not leave me; as it goes with Israel so will it go with all of us. Should Israel perish the holocaust will be upon us.

So, How Hot IS It?

It’s soooo hot, I’m sweatin’ like Cynthia McKinney in a runoff…

According to this Forbes article, US Rep McKinney faces a bigger fight:

McKinney once claimed the Bush administration had advance knowledge of the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks. She struck a Capitol Police officer in March when he tried to stop her from entering a House office building unrecognized. A grand jury in Washington declined to indict her in the incident, but she was forced to apologize in the full House.

“She’s been the candidate of polarization and divisiveness,” Johnson, who also is black, said in a debate with McKinney this week.

McKinney blames Republicans for her political woes. Whether the GOP is responsible is a matter of dispute, but there is no doubt that the Republicans have orchestrated a remarkable takeover in Georgia. […]

[T.M.], a 56-year-old Republican engineer, took a Democratic ballot in July to make a statement against McKinney, whom he called “a disgrace.”

“She doesn’t represent the district and her last little antic at the Capitol was something I don’t want representing me,” [M.] said. […]…

University of Georgia political science professor Charles Bullock said that if history is a guide, McKinney will lose as most incumbents forced into a runoff in Georgia do.

“There is blood in the water and the sharks are circling,” Bullock said.

While McKinney thinks she may be able to hang on to some voters with her tactic of “Look at him, he’s even worse than me”, it won’t fool the many who are sick and tired of her antics. During the second debate in a week, Hank Johnson hit the nail right on the head:

And for one of the first times publicly, Johnson took off the gloves. After McKinney accused him of being under the thumb of Republicans because of the money he has gotten from GOP-leaning donors, he struck back.

“I can accuse her of being under the control of terrorists, but I won’t” Johnson said, because of the money that her campaign has gotten from Muslim interests.

Conspiracy Cindy went on to say:

“The special interest for me is the people,” McKinney said. “In 2002 the Republicans had a scheme and that scheme was to take over Georgia. Mr. Johnson is part of that Republican scheme. He is taking money from Republicans. Taking votes from Republicans. He is asking Republicans to interfere in a Democratic primary.”

Now Cynthia, I have a question for YOU….if America is the land of the free and the home of the brave, one nation UNDER GOD (Thank You Very Much), why is it such a travesty for a voter to follow his heart and switch tickets? We ALL live in America, not just the Democrats. It’s not the Democrat nation. Or the Democrat religion. Or the Democrat life-style choice. “Democrat” is nothing but a political party and it USED to stand for something. Maybe you should read how a Russian would vote, if he could.

Or maybe… it’s just all about YOU. And NOT your constituents. Yeah, that’s it…
